Wow, first week into the new season and already you have a injury crisis...
You guys are suffering the same thing we suffered last season :D

Atletico's chances of going through have just gone up.....again. :(

You've still got a fully fit and brilliant manager though, you'll be fine.

We still have a lot of depth in the squad, we can replace any of of the injured players with players almost as good so there´s no disaster.

Yeah, Schalke had a lot of depth this season..
Replace Engelaar with Striet (if he's fit), Jones with Kobiashvilli and Farfan with Altintop

Farfan apparently will be able to play in the return leg

A peruvian source indicates that he is almost fully recovered ;o

It helps that Schalke are part-owners of an advanced Rehab-clinic I guess...But in general pro-athletes heal a lot faster than normal people as they get advanced treatments and physiotherapy every day.

How long is Neuer out for and who is Schober's backup? Argh, I'm not a Schober fan, although he looked good against AM....
Also, what is Rafinha's status with the team right now, is it forgive and forget?

That would be Ralf Faehrmann. 4th goalie is Mohammed Amsif. Both are 19 years old and it's been said that they are very talented.
Also, what is Rafinha's status with the team right now, is it forgive and forget?
We're all curious about that but no one knows yet. I would fire him. For 10 million Euro :D

Neuer was happier this week as they removed his plaster and he have been training almost as usual...
This pic is two days old

1-1 away against Bremen, I can live with that...
Considering that we had 4-5 regular players missing anything but a loss is acceptable to me against a team at level with ourselves.
Westerman scoring the equalizer was nice as well because he haven´t really been up to standard since his Euro break.

I totally agree, buddy!:)
Now I am getting nervous for the Atletico's return leg...

Whatever the outcome of the Madrid game I like the way we are beginning to look under Rutten.

According to HSV management, a Schalke aggregate win tonight over Atlético might come in very handy for their transfer efforts:o

As Bild points out, this is a €15 million match tonight! I should be packing my things to move back to the Sates in a few days, but instead I will be holding my breath for 90 minutes.

You're down 1-0 right now, you look nervous and will have it all to do to keep them off the scoresheet again...but, if you can scrap one goal and hold tight, you'd be in good shape.
I knew Farfan was hurt, but I though he was a possibility for this match?
Engelaar is hurt as well? Bad timing, to be sure. Good luck.

You guys need some creativity...All of your attacks have been easily dealt with from Atletico.
Is Farfan on the bench?
Edit: wow, not even on the bench huh? Maybe Vicente and Rafinha can add a bit of spark to your play..but sadly I just can't see Schalke scoring with the way they are attacking right now.

They are on their way up again, marginally.
