Sounds like it's just down to the pounds now.

Good riddance to Shorey. I want folks that want to be Royals and judging from his language (and poor play) last year, he does't want to be a Royal.

I'd agree that it never seemed like Shorey was happy to be here.
I think he'll do well, but I never found him to be the quality of player that others made him out to be.

Sunderland in for Shorey. (http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/readingfc/s/2033175_keane_swoops_for_royals_ace)
Looks like the main players are Sunderland, Pompey and Villa.
The article also talks about Middlesbrough making a move for Harper, but that their offer was to low for him as well.

the talk of moving hunt to shorey's left back spot (where is golbourne right now, did we ship him out?) and needing to find room for the new hunt and jem karacan makes me think Reading might deal in both these areas, if they walk with a combined $16 million, which is reasonable, it's probably good business and good for the team. With Shorey, it's got to be a matter of time, esp as copps has hinted he's not fully committed to reading right now.

From ROS Injuries & Bans page:
Scott Golbourne (pelvic) - He's close to coming back now and being integrated into training.

with only one hyear left, expecting another $10m payday was a bit optimisitc, I guess. Looks like a bargain at $6m though.

Shorey comes to terms with Villa. (http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=560690&sec=england&cc=5901) And away he goes. Any idea who coppell is looking at to bring in to fill the hole. It will be an interesting experiment to see how Hunt gets on, but we need a natural defender back there.

Looks like Copps has money to spend and he plans on using some of it to fill the hole at left back.
