Arsenal Better Than Rivals - Lehmann
After Jens Lehmann’s new club, Stuttgart, were beaten 3-1 by his former club, Arsenal, in yesterday’s friendly, the German goalkeeper stated that the Gunners mare “technically superior” to both their main Premier League rivals, Manchester United and Chelsea.
Although in Jens Lehmann’s final season at Arsenal the Gunners finished empty-handed, with both United and Chelsea ahead of them in the Premier League table, Lehmann claims that the football played by Arsene Wenger's side is much better than that of those rival teams.
Lehmann was, somewhat untypically, full of praise for his former team-mates after Wednesday’s friendly.
"It was good to play Arsenal," he said afterwards. "Technically and football-wise, they are far ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea.
"Every player who leaves the club seems to do less well but I hope to be different in my final season.
"Arsenal's young players have grown in maturity from last season.
"But it is difficult to say about their title chances as the competition is tight."
