This wunderkid deserves his own thread because I believe he is going to play this year....a lot. I don't see why Arsene won't handle him the way he handled Cesc. He has shown so far his quality and that he can play with men. The new 7 man bench rule will help his development as he will get more games as the score allows.
What does everyone expect from him this year? His vision and maturity reminds me of Cesc at this age.
Wenger has always shown that if you are good enough you will play, no matter the age.

He's shown a lot so far this pre-season. He should feature in the Milk Cup and I think he'll get a couple games on the bench too. It wouldn't shock me if he even started a couple games if we're beset by injuries.

I think he'll get on the bench for home fixtures against the likes of Stoke and Hull etc, and probably come on in the last 10 minutes if we're fortunate to be up 3 or 4 goals. I don't really see him playing in the league beyond that. However I do feel as though he'll be a mainstay in the Carling Cup side which hopefully will progress the the final and win the thing. Great future on him.

I heard that JFW feels that Arsene Wenger has been a father to him, and that his heart is with Arsenal, but that when a big club like Barcelona is interested of course you cannot say no. Also that if he is going to be handled like Cesc Fabregas then of course he will expect to be paid like Cesc Fabregas. Finally, that if the club does not show its ambition by signing experienced players and winning several trophies this year, he will smite the board with plagues of boils, hairy nevises, frogs, molluscs and rat tart without too much rat in it.

Odd, I heard that on the 8th day Jack Wilshere created Arsene Wenger in his own image.

It seems to have gone unnoticed by the media, but the 6+5 rule doesn't say anything about nationality. Rather, it prevents JFW from playing more than 6 positions at once.

this year?? nah. not anything meaningful, if at all.
tries moves that work, tries alot that dont work.
give him 2 years, imo.
who's job would he replace? you say alot, but i'd be shocked if he made the bench, much less a sub's role.

JFW agrees with you, and so it's stopped already.

I love the way this kid took his goal today. Showed a confidence that some of our veterans don't even show. Fantastic.

Naturally Rosicky because he is most likely the one that will be injured.
I bet he gets 25 games this year.

Sorry.....
I feel somewhat responsible, as my initial comparison, which I clearly intended to be a MILD one, sort sparked the creation of the JFW cult.
In all seriousness, I do hope he continues to be given opportunities to be measured against top level competition. However, as I said before, I expect that he contributes significantly to the Carling Cup side, and maybe the early FA Cup matches.
That being said...
Wilshere for Arsenal. Wilshere for England!

i am hoping this kid is the truth. i think we all are.
i'd love to see him, Theo, and Ramsey be our mainstays. It'd be nice to get away from the notion that we play no English players. I think our youth academy develops the best talent in England and given a year or two the "kids" in the youth system are gonna be the ones trotting out their winning silverwear.
JFW future captain of AFC? Hopefully.
