Seems every season there's a little movement in which cable soccer network will carry which league. Last time around the Italian league jumped from GolTV to FSC while I believe FSC gave up more of its EPL content to Setanta (and in the meantime, we had to wait a few weeks into the season before we found out who would carry La Liga, missing the first couple of rounds before it ended up back on GolTV). There may have been more movement that I don't remember. Anyway, what's the story for this season that's about to start? I haven't heard of any leagues switching. Will it turn out to be the same as last season for all the channels? I don't remember when that's happened before (even when FSC, or FSW as it was called back then, was the only game in town they would always have the EPL, but they would change whether they'd be showing Brazilian, Dutch, French, German league matches along with it each new season).

Besides Setanta dropping Eredivisie, there really are no changes from last season. Most of the current deals go through the 2009/2010 season so its status quo for now.....

Edit - Just to add: away from leagues, the only other signings during 2008 involved:

- Setanta and FSC tied up English FA Cup rights through the 2010/2011 season (including Community Shield match which the channels will share on August 10th).

- GOL TV has the exclusive Spanish and English rights for all Italian National team home qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup (+ 6 friendlies).

- GOL TV also secured rights to the German and Spanish National team sides for their 2010 WC qualifiers + friendlies.

GOL TV has also gained rights for WC Qualifiers and friendlies for Netherlands, Wales, Scotland and Liechtenstein. http://www.multichannel.com/article/CA6561013.html

In addition, to clarify for those who do not know how the FA Cup coverage changes this year, games will no longer be on PPV. Generally, Setanta will show two games per round (the early games on Saturday and Sunday), while Fox will show three per round. Game time will determine which games Setanta gets, like the PL deal, rather than the teams involved.

I love the part that says, "Setanta Sports will show approximately two LIVE French League games per week," yet there are exactly zero confirmed for the first weekend and none on the schedule yet for the second weekend. http://www.setantaus.com/en/NA/Our-Schedules/

I believe this is a 4-year deal, through 2011-2012, just like the last deal. The English FA works on 2-year or 4-year contract cycles rather than a 3-year cycle.

Must be a rights issue. No Ligue 1 on August 9-10 on Setanta Sports USA.

One of these things is not like the others. One of these things doesn't belong.

I don't know which one you're talking about, but I'm a long-time Liechtenstein supporter and can't wait to watch their games!

Why didn't they just go for it all, and get a package of San Marino, Moldova and Andorra!

Setanta has added in the Ligue 1 to there schedual (in Australia) but it was a late inclusion from last session they generally showed 2-3 games per week and 2/3rds of those games were live. Tonight they have Lyon v Toulouse live with Rennes v Marseille being delayed

Anyone know about the Eredivisie? No sign on the Setanta US schedule.

Looking at the Setanta website, I dont see any Le Championnat listings, and no listings for this weeks CL games.

Is Setanta trimming even MORE from their programming?

I watched the Community Shield on Setanta yesterday, and the commentators did an on-air promo for the Arsenal-FC Twente match. So Setanta is airing it in the UK.

They had Live soccer marked for the 12 noon and 3 pm slots for Sunday, August 17th (which is when the French League has its TV games), but that has now been removed. I wonder if they are renegotiating the telecasts (since they put the timeslots in the schedule, only to remove them later), or the fact that they have the French telecasts in the UK and Ireland confuses the web site updaters back in Ireland.
