Official Dust League Organising Thread

First order of business is to establish the draft order.

Request all Small Rocks managers send me a PM with a 4-digit number from 0000 to 9999. I have sent my number to Hal.

As soon as I have everyone's numbers, I'll post them here and we'll use the next evening's PA Pick-4 Lottery number to determine the draft order. Imaging the 8 numbers on a circle. The cut off date will be to use Tuesday's 7 PM PA lottery number. If I haven't received a number from someone by then, I'll go find what their number was last year and use it. The draft order is determined by the closeness to the PA Pick 4 lottery number. For example, let's say manager A picked 1000 and manager B picked 9500 and the PA Lottery number is 0100. Manager B whose pick was 600 from the lottery number would draft before Manager A whose pick was 900 from the lottery number.

All new managers should read the draft league rules thread and the draft tips and how we conduct the draft. It would also be helpful if you scanned through a couple of the draft threads from last season (go to about page three of this thread to find last years' draft threads). This is a promotion/relegation combination of drafted leagues. If someone doesn't return, we move managers from lower leagues up in the order listed above.

regarding draft start date, i'll be in Rotterdam from the 1st-4th August.

if possible i'd like to start on the 5th, or late on the 4th(GMT). i'd be home for about 1-2am.

if it starts on the 1st then as long as i know i'll proxy picks out to Gordon or someone else.

It's time for the Dust League 2008_9 managers to start posting and to register at fantasy.premierleague.com and join the Dust 2008_9 private league.

This is not a time to miss several days or a week. We will move quickly to replace a manager who has signed up but doesn't appear active with someone off the stand-by list.

frasermc, how about taking on the roll of League Administrator and creating the private league Dust 2008_9. I'll send you the email addys of the other Dust League managers so you can send them the code to join.

I should be free to draft all August so I'm not too fussed when we start. I don't mind being fraser's drafting proxy but I don't really want any other 'responsibility' as I'm starting a new job soon and I've already experienced the chaos of helping to run a draft/competition on BS this summer.:rolleyes:

you can register and join the league. you'll need to just auto-pick a team so you can join.

we'll then replace them as or after we've done the draft.

Well I will be getting out of Kansas City for a while in September, work is sending me to Zurich for the weekend and they just happen to be playing at home while I am there :)

i'm assuming that the draft won't start before the 5th now? considering we aren't sure of the 8 managers that will be competing in our division yet.
