I went to a taping of the Price is Right today and decided to wear a US scarf to use the soccer schtick in order to get on the show. Unfortunately, the interviewers didn't seem to interested, and I wasn't a contestant on the show.

However, during a commercial break of the taping, Drew Carey noticed my scarf and his eyes lit up. He said, "God Bless you for wearing that US Soccer scarf." He proceeded to talk US soccer with me for the next 5 minutes in front of the rest of the studio audience. He talked about the Olympics, World Cup Qualifying, the All-Star Game, Wambach's leg, and Sam's Army. He asked me to stand up and hold up my scarf too which is the one commemorating the 06WCQ vs Mexico in CLB and says "Recuerden Corea".

The funny thing is I was surrounded by people in Browns, Indians, and Cavs gear who were surprised he was so interested in me instead of them.

Tres frais!

I invited Drew Carey (through his "people") to come to the night-before party at Grunion's before the BRB match last June, but he didn't come. I guess he had a "prior commitment" or something.

Cool story, thanks for sharing. It's really cool that Carey likes soccer the way he does.

I wish that instead of "get your pets spayed and neutured", he'd say "Support soccer, go watch a game!" But that won't happen, CBS won't let him...

Next US game at the Depot we have to get a big group to go to the Price is Right. I have tired the last few games, but they were both off weeks of taping.

Awesome story, and yes, we need like 15 of us to get on The Price is Right, completley decked out in U.S. scarves and shirts.

I didn't even know he was the host of the Price is Right. What happened to Bob Barker? Did Happy Gilmore get his revenge and kill him? :D

Cool story though.
