I was wondering why I was walking around with a spring in my step and a song in my heart. I have the moral high ground apparently and to be honest, it feels good.

Tottenham are set back a bit then. If they lose Berbatov they're screwed IMO.

Can't remember where I read it but someone was saying that Spurs would take this money and buy Arshavin. I think that kid was "punching above his weight" with clubs like Barca, etc and think Spurs would make a great fit for him. Very much agreed, sir, concerning Berbatov.

Thin in strikers no doubt if Berbs leaves, but they have 13 + defenders still and around 10+ midfielders, they do need some major thinning out (as does West Ham, something like 50 on their roster going into summer :rolleyes:) I wonder if Bent has to stay now though, supposedly they are still trying to get Arshavin and Villa:rolleyes: and and so on.

agreed as well

Although I am sure that many Spurs fans are excited about some of the new singings I would be nervous about losing the likes of Berbatov and Keane in favour of a new Continental signing who is unproven in this League.

They do have Darren Bent, but his signing could hardly be called a success to date.

I remember them going through a period of singing any promising British youngster (Davenport, Huddlestone, Bale, etc) and the shipping out whoever wasnt good enough. I believe they had close to, or over, 70 players at one point during Jols tenure. I dont know how many and perhaps Randy, our resident Spurs fan, can tell us.

Good signing, but how much does this really really improve the team considering they lost Crouchaldinho? Not that Crouch is amazing, but how much more can Keane really add that Crouch could not? More definately, but it's not as if Villa just signed.

Keep an eye on Alonso also, anybody heard recent news? I'd heard some time back he could be on the move.

Juventus held the strongest interest but were put off by Liverpools valuation of Alonso, they have since signed Christian Poulsen and claimed they have finished their dealings in the transfer market.

Put's the Barry move in a bit of doubt aswell, they would be overrun with central midfielders if Alonso didn't leave and Barry came in.

Would they not use him on the left if they had a plethora of options in the middle? I thought he was on the left until recently with Villa.

To be fair I have little knowledge of Liverpool's depth on the left of midfield (Babel I think?).

He's been playing centrally for Villa and England for some time now so would be a strange choice to shove out on the wings. The Liverpool fans I know seem to think that the following will be their first choice line-up:

Reina

Carragher Skrtel Agger Dossena

Mascherano Alonso

Gerrard Keane Babel

Torres

The Gerrard/Keane/Babel they expect to have a fair bit of freedom to swap. Replace Alonso with Barry if he does arrive. They seem desperately short of wingers though.

Maybe not out on the wings, but on the left generally would not be a reach. Left footers are a luxury and Barry himself feels he is most effective on the left.....

Yep, he could do a job anywhere Liverpool place him as his left foot is great, that Alonso role would suit him down to the ground though imo. Things seem to have quietened down a bit last few days though with regards to the transfer. Wonder if Liverpool have the cash for another big signing after the Keane deal, think they would try to raise some cash from an Alonso sale.

The San Antonio Spurs are fantastic. NBA Champions! Nothing close to 70 in the squad!
