Lehmann out to do his best Beckenbauer impersonation.

Gomz hits the post now, then Lehmann does excellently in a one-on-one when the Liege striker tries to round him.
Very enjoyable match now.

I think we're taking it a little too lightly now...

Well Boulahrouz has just come on for Hilbert - defensive substitution, so Babbel obviously isn't taking it all too lightly.

Boula on for Hilbert. Babbel has decided it's time to shut up shop, with Träsch moving up into Hilbert's spot.

Very nice goal for Marica. Sami on the assist, wasn't it?

Good move, but Liege doesn't seem to try anymore. We now have all the space we want.
I was just concerned that our defense didn't seem 100% focused, which could have backfired. But now with the 3-0 we're definitely through. Especially with Liege waiting for the final whistle.

We definitely haven't seen Liege at anywhere near their best tonight, which is fine by me.
Pardo on for what could be his last appearance in a Stuttgart shirt, if you want to believe the reports out of Mexico.

Incidentally, Sampdoria beating Sevilla now so it seems we'll finish the group in second place.

Game over!
Brilliant job boys!
Liege weren't at their best tonight but that doesn't matter, still a very good performance!
A big, big thank you to Babbel - the way he's turned around this side in the 5 games he's been in charge has been phenomenal! This side is really starting to show what it can do now - its been 4 minutes and I already cannot wait for the winterbreak to end :D
Enjoy the xmas break boys!
