Here's an awesome video of our fans trip to Sampdoria midweek: :)

Really good clip. Kudos!
But it seems there was some serious trouble with the Italian cops after the game...
Btw: If you beat the already qualified team from Liège (3:0 against Sampdoria tonight) in Stuttgart, you'll go through.
PS: Good debut for Babbel. Just curious if he'll manage to get you out of the crisis...

Well, Standard Liege(Lüttich) are already into the next round of the UEFA Cup, so hopefully they will rest some key players when they come down to Stuttgart.
Interesting article profiling Hoffenheim in the SZ today. Normally wouldn't mention it here, but it is more than relevant to us, as nearly half of their starting eleven was at one point on the books for VfB. They seem like good players, and we let them go. Why exactly?

For the record, if Sampdoria draw their last game to Sevilla, then a draw will be good enoug for us. If Samp lose to Sevilla, then we'll go through unless we lose by 3 goals. So things are definitely in our own hands. We still have to try to beat Liege, and that's obviously gonna be really, REALLY hard. But we'll have a fair chance. If we don't, we're gonna have to root for Sevilla.
It'll be a tense last round.
In some bad news, Gomez has picked up a minor injury and will miss the trip to Cottbus :(. Hopefully we can still win without him. The major problem will be if he's not fit to play the uefa cup decider and the game against ScheissBayern.

I hope so. ;)

Yeah, here's hoping. Anyone else crying a little bit while watching all these Hoffenheim players taking it to Bayern?

Hoffenheim's getting pretty popular in this area right now, gotta say it's a total joke. People can't even have excuses like 'Oh, my granfather was from there!' or 'My parents supported them and it was pases on' - because they obviously aren't true! Their fans are just open, crazy gloryhunters :D
Alright, game starts in 30 minutes. No huge changes from last week, Simak I believe deserves a return to the first team in the creator role instead of Khedira. And with Gomez out, it'll be a Cacau-Marica lineup today i'm guessing. That'll be interesting.
We hve to aim to beat Cottbus.

Good start!
1-0 very early on - Hilbert with a shot from just outside the box into the top corner of the net.
Keep it up boys!

I'm watching it here:

For me it works great, but others say it doesn't work for them.
We're playing quite bad, but held the lead into halftime. Still 1-0. Second half about to start.

Ohhh Cacau misses a one-on-one :(
If we score a second I don't see Cottbus coming back.

Cacau beauty through ball to SIMAK! Who nets the 2-0!
Barring us falling completely asleep, that should have been the decider!

Khedira has added a third in the meanwhile! Become a mini-rout! I'm satisfied :)

Over!
First away win in 7 Bundesliga away matches! The team continues to show promise under Babbel!
And this was a good, good win ahead of a very tough week!
Also: An honorary mention to Schieber, who made his first-team debut after coming on in the 80th minute here.

I'm pleased with the result, but it was Cottbus, so I'll wait before I get too excited about a possible turnaround.

I know you have a big ol' smiley face next to your post, but are all the Stuttgart fans from Heidelberg (only 41 minutes away by train) jokes because they became fans in, for example, 83/84 or 91/92? Glory hunters?

Man, if people became fans of ours in 1984 and have since remained loyal fans over the course of the last 24(!!!!) years, then quite obviously they are anything BUT gloryhunters. So, i'm sorry, but it was a really silly point really.
