The kit. I know its bad, we have survived worse kits and come out OK. For me, no kit is complete without name, number and patches.
When I first found arsenal around 01-02, you would choose from Adams, Bergkamp, Henry, Pires, Ljunberg, Vieira, Campbell, Cole (you know who you are Ed)......all are in the top 25 Arsenal players EVER BTW
I think over 7 or 8 years and I have kits with just about all those guys on them. Now take a look at what we have. Who are our heros.
We got 2.
Cesc (already got one and so does everyone else) RVP (got one, but its 4 years old bought back when I still had huge hope for him.) Theirs no one... maybe Kolo deserves more love.
Back line Sagna (not yet but soon) Gallas (f**king never) Clichy, nah
Midfield......I can't honestly tell you who will start in the midfield weekend and week out. Nasir (everyone jumps on a kit from a hot new guy), Diaby.. no, Song, Denilson, Ro SICK y..... deperate times there
Up front Adebayor was coming on strong, but he's not committed (don't blame him, he's underpaid by 300%) Bentner...no...Theo (just can't bare the sight of the TW14.
We are just in a bad state right now, and its obvious, even in the little things.

And yet the team with no heros went close to winning the Premier League and only have themselves to blame for NOT doing so.
And many of the heros of the Wenger era were once unknowns and unproven players. How many Gooners had heard of Vieira when he signed? Or Freddie? Adams himself was once just a lowly youth player. Henry may have been well known but certainly not as a world class striker.
I have faith in Arsene and I reckon he CAN deliver. He produced a team that should have won the Premier League won all the pundits in the media were saying that Wenger was on the wane when Henry left. All we need to do is carry last season's form into the coming season and develop more bottle and mental strength (which is the REAL reason we lost the Premier League lead).

That run against Liverpool convinced me to go with Theo. He's likely to be at the club for a while and this could/should be his breakout season.

That's what inspired me to go with Theo when I got the third shirt during Kitbag's sale a few months ago. For the new away shirt, I ended up going with van Persie.

Oh that's inspired!
Of course Billy Gallas might not wanna hand over his number so easily.

I think Billy would rather kick an advertising board and cry than mess with Jack ********ing Wilshere.
Jack Wilshere doesn't wear a watch. He decides what time it is.

In a way, I agree with what Billy is saying. This squad is nowhere near as likable as previous ones, even the players I do have a soft spot for (like Van Persie) constantly have something wrong with them. I guess its just part of the youth movement though.

That's kind of what I've been thinking. It seems almost every Arsenal kits these days has Fabregas printed on the back of it. Sure, he's world-class and our most important player, but it also says something about the lack of other (long-term) reliable players in the squad.
Of course I'm not drawing a concrete correlation, but it is something to think about.
Oh, and if Sagna continues his performances from last season into the upcoming one, I'm definitely gonna get his jersey (once I finish my military service).

I've personally never understood the motive to have another man's name on one's back. Not finding any men worthy of having on one's back might not be a sign of impending doom as much as a sign of maturity...?
If no kit is "complete" in your mind without name & number, put your own on the back. It's the club not the players that matter, imho.

Putting your own name on the back is a cardinal sin. Unless you or an immediate family member (ie same last name) have actually played for the club, do not under any circumstances put your own name on the back. Nicknames are allowed, in rare instances.
