We'll see. Right now Bradley, Altidore, and Vela are the top 3. No one else even comes close.

Bradley isn't U-20. Is there some reason you didn't include Adu?

It has to be Giovani, Vela, Adu, Altidore, and Borges.....in that particular order. Bradley is overrated and hasn't proved his worth on the national team but with experience he will be a decent DM.

I am interested to see how Dos Santos does at Manchester City this year, how much time he gets and such.

Vela, i think he's good but the last time i saw him Adu and Jozy against the same competition both Adu and Jozy had better tournements and looked more dangerous. In Cananda last year. Wenger has a habbit of giving young players an opportunity, especially inthe Calring Cup..so i am also interested to see how he looks there.

I think Adu will get a lot of chances in Monaco, which he needs after the stupid coaching musical chairs at Benfica last year. he didn't play alot, scored 5 goals as a super sub, but generally showed well in limited action according to their supporters.

Jozy if loaned should get a lot of chances to show it, i personally think he is the best potential of those i have seen. He is a monster at 18 and has a tremendous upside if he puts it all together, if he stays a Villareal he may not get that much PT at his age unless he blows up in training.

i'd say at the start of this new season

1. Dos Santos
2. Adu
3. Vela
4. Jozy

But i could see Jozy having the best season and claiming the top spot by April.

Gio transferred to Spurs although I think you may be talking about Nery Castillo who is still at City for the next six months.

Not sure if you're aware but Gio won the the Silver ball at the U17 WC and the Bronze ball at the U20 WC. Neither Adu nor Altidore were even nominated. Vela had a great season at Osasuna and was promptly recalled by Wenger to be part of the first team, not the reserves.

I don't necessarily understand how Adu would be ranked above Vela, especially with the recent developments in Adu's position at Benfica.

Jozy will be alright at Villareal, he has great potential and I would know since I'm a metro fan but he is still very raw. His touch is rather heavy and his decision-making around the box has to improve, not to mention his attitude on the field has gotten worse since his debut but his ability to beat players 1 v 1 and his prowess in the air will make him a lethal forward once all those things fall into place. The thing is, teams from La Liga and Serie A play some damn good defense and he won't get away with just using size and speed over there, the defenders are very smart and dont give you much time on the ball. I suspect it'll take him at least one season to adapt and right now he has some good attacking players in front of him in the depth chart.

I hope this doesn't turn into that Gio & Vela vs Adu & Altidore thread from last year. That was just stupid.

I meant Spurs.

And i still think it was criminal Adu didnt win something in that U-20..he was outstanding. And i beleive Jozy scored 4 or 5 goals in that tournement.

Adu's position at Benfica is due to the ridiculous coaching changes, the oringal coach that brought him in was playing him..then two coaches later...it happens. But his performances have been good and i think if he gets a fair run at Monaco he is poised for a good season there.

Jozy is raw, which is why i listen him last...but he also has probably the largest upside of any of them if he outs it all together. They dont make many guys his size, athelticism, and finshhing ability in the world, especailly at his age.

I am aware Vela had a good year at Osasuna, but honestly the few times i have seen him play since his U-17 breakout...not that impressed. Granted i have seen only a select few matches so i may not have the whole picture.

I honestly think Freddy Adu will have the best season compared to Gio, Vela and Altidore. Simply because he probably feels he has a lot to prove and wants to just settle down for a bit and prove his worth.

It will also take a bit of time for Gio, Vela and Jozy to settle into their new teams and become contributors.

We would also be talking about the younger DeGuzman but he has decided to play for Holland and the US fans will get a good look at him when they face the Dutch in the Olympics. From what I've seen of him, he's going to be one heck of player, too bad for Canada.

I just like the fact that there we are talking about 4 young Concacaf stars who are getting a shot to impress in the top leagues of Europe.

Times are changing...
