KC Wizards Juniors at Nationals

The KC Wizards Juniors U-19 team is at US Youth Soccer's National finals this week in Little Rock, Arkansas. The team will play Freestate United from Maryland Wednesday. Sereno 89 White of Arizona Thursday, and Solar 89 of North Texas on Friday. The top two advance to the finals on Sunday. The team has set up a blog to follow the team. 3-2 win over Freestate this morning. Came from 2-0 down. Sereno 89 White has been replaced by Colorado Rush Nike.

3-1 win yesterday over Rush. With Solar's win over Freestate, the Juniors are in the national finals.

On to the McGuire Cup Final, eh. Nice. You know, not that long ago that would have made a club the undisputed national champion (still is the official one).

I'm a little surprised not to hear more about this. They used to televise this game, but if this one's going to be on TV I don't know where.

1-1 draw today with Solar in the final group play game. Apparently a very low intensity game, as you'd expect from two teams already in the final. The last 10 minutes were played bascially with the players standing around kicking the ball back and forth to avoid injury. My brother, who is on the Juniors, but is recovering from knee surgery even got on the field to stand around and kick the ball.

The Juniors lost 1-0 in the final on a free kick in second half stoppage time.
