We're in the process of getting everything updated. Here's the official word, though:
http://www.behindthebadge.com/2008/07/dcu-vs-houston-postponed-again.php
Due to power outages in southeast Washington D.C., including RFK Stadium, tonight's D.C. United match versus the Houston Dynamo has been postponed. The game will now take place tomorrow evening - Wednesday, July 23 - at 7:30 p.m. ET.
Tonight's game was originally scheduled to be played on June 4 before being delayed by unplayable conditions. All tickets bearing the June 4 or July 22 date will be honored at tomorrow's match.

Game is cursed because soccer gods are angry that parking and entry weren't free today. Who knows what might happen tomorrow :D

See, now this is clever. We just say we need a new stadium because of scheduling conflicts, football lines, and poor grass. :)
Are the electrical problems just at the stadium or in the area?

This is absolutely insane.
On a brighter note, I can make tomorrow's match; today was a no go for me. I'll take what I can get.

I did get a text message from the team; actually one of the most useful text messages I've ever gotten.

Well, I'm glad I checked BigSoccer before I left work to drive down to RFK.

I must be super cool cause I got a text message about 15 minutes ago from DC United stating the game was postponed.... You all should really sign up for the text messages!

I know, right. That makes up for all the irritation of the last dozen or so completely non-useful ones I've gotten.

Not to look on the dark side too much... but Pepco doesn't seem to think that there's a major power problem at RFK (20003, and that site is pretty reliable and refreshes quickly) - http://www.pepco.com/home/emergency/maps/zip/
And the Channel 4 news hasn't menioned anything in the first 10 minutes of the news - is it really that serious? Would this type of storm/outage problem kill a game at another stadium? Somehow I think this is more of an RFK problem than it is a Pepco/power problem.

It could never happen because of all the tickets they've already sold...
But I would love it if they moved this match to the daytime at the auxiliary fields. Imagine how cool the atmosphere would be.

my guess is this....Nats refuse to pay DC the money it promised for rent, DCESC fails to pay electric bill due to no money from NATS, WE GET ********ED!

Agreed! The text messages are a good idea. But an email would be better for those that don't get DCU text messages.
I'm starting to think a stadium outside of the city, may be a good thing! I'd rather drive the extra few miles and know the lights will be on.

Yep - United pay their rent - for a stadium not fit to be used.
The Nationals owe millions in rent for a brand new, perfectly functioning stadium.
I think it's time to act like proper football supporters and go absolutely postal on our slumlords.

2nd conspiracy theory....
DCU doesnt want to put up with the debacle of the tickets and parking and "turns off the lights" and magically the teams can play
:)
(haha, anywhere else i would believe that, but not here)

The Nats won't pay rent because they say there are numerous little things not yet done. Once the stadium is completely finished to their standards, then the rent will be paid. Makes sense, but still a problem!
