*Whatever happened to the USSF's probe of Cuauhtemoc Blanco's behavior during the Open Cup quarterfinal vs. DCU?
Apparently, two individuals who will be involved in the review have been on vacation. Rest assured, the situation is far from over. Blanco's apology, issued in a prepared statement last week, was clearly a peace offering and an attempt to soften the blow of what could be a considerable penalty. Once the USSF makes its ruling, MLS might act. True, the Open Cup was not an MLS event. But Blanco is a league employee and subject to additional sanctions. From what I've been told, the videotapes widely viewed in the days after the game tell only part of the story and that other evidence might be introduced. Stay tuned.....
