I see in today's sports pages and blogs reports about scuffling between supporters at the Crew-WHU match in Columbus over the weekend. I am not a big watcher of MLS, but the last time I watched a televised match from Columbus I saw a ton of stuff thrown from the stands at an opposing corner taker. Has there been anything written from the Home Office about this type of behavior from the home supporters? Last time, I could have sworn there was a bottle (plastic perhaps) tossed toward the taker of the kick. What's the AR's responsibility on that side when stuff is coming out of the stand? Shouldn't the CR be stopping the match? What is the proper response?

If you are in a game in the US, you stop the match and make sure that the situation is under control. Lawsuits are not something you want to be involved in. You also want to make sure you include a supplemental report explaining what happened and why the game was stopped and if it was restarted, etc.
If you are in a Central American country, you just know that the game is finally getting going and keep playing. I can guarantee that more than one thing will be tossed on the field in the WCQ games on the road. If you caught the interview with Heydude, he talks about how you take throws quickly so that you don't get hit with piss bags, batteries, or bottles. It's a different world.

First priority...don't get hit in the back of the head.
