Olympics isn't the highest international event for baseball. There's no way the highest international event for baseball has Australia winning silver and the Dominican Republic not participating.
World Baseball Classic is the highest international event for baseball. its timing allows for inclusion of MLB players(Olympics has none)
At least someone agree with me. A couple people about dropped a nut when I made this point at orioleshangout.

Its not our fault that the Dominican Republic didn't qualify for any Olympics. If they put for emphasis into baseball and not MLB, they would be there every single time.
This years tournament was considered to be of very high quality and those nations that took part took it very seriously.
Except the Americans, who seem to ignore the quality for the tournament and rather complain over who is not there.

Players? Every article I read and interview I watched said they loved it. I remember Chipper Jones saying he was more nervous before the first game then any WS game hes played in.

you can't seriously think that the olympics is the highest international event for baseball when wbc exists, olympicS arE not the besT representation of each nation (maybe except for teAms such as china and the netherlandS), cleaRly not for teAms such as the DR,USA,japan, venezuela, pueRto rico, south korea
