hi guys just wondering about Mondragon, he was a former keeper for the Colombian NT

Just wondering if he is going to be a starter for you guys because there are teams in the Colombian league that want him and he says he wants to come(he is 38 so guessing his time is almost here to retire)

Tho pretty sure there is no way for a Colombian team to buy him from a German team

there are some rumors about him wanting to leave the club

but it would be very hard to find an adequat substitute for him, therefore I doubt that the FC will let him go.

Petit Set To Join FC Köln

Benfica midfielder Petit is reportedly on the brink of completing a move to Bundesliga side FC Köln.

According to news daily A BOLA, negotiations between the two clubs are at a very advanced stage and a deal could be struck in the next few hours.

Although the figure FC Köln will have to spend to secure the services of Petit is still unknown, it is reported that the 31-year-old midfielder has been offered a two-year contract with an option for a further year.

Petit has been an ever-present figure at Estádio da Luz since he arrived from Boavista nearly six years ago despite enduring an indifferent 2007/08 season in which he was hampered by several injuries that almost ruled him out of Euro 2008.

He will now fulfill is dream of playing abroad, with reports suggesting that his wages will be almost doubled in case he completes a move to the recently-promoted German club.

Other players that are currently linked with Köln are Emile Mpenza and Abderrahman Kabous (Moroccan, 25 years old, OM, playing for Real Murcia).
This is only according to "Express", though. It might be purely fictitious.

FC denied interests in Mpenza, but news regarding Petit. The website of Benfica is writing that he left for cologne.
Also (my portuguese is not very good) it is stated that he left on a free transfer, but in case Petit will join another club after cologne they will get a 3Mio Euro fee, plus an option for Benfica to either sign him back or in case he returns to Portugal they have to agree to the new team (not sure exactly what the sentence in portuguese means...).
