Yes, lousy second half, but what a horrible decision not to issue the red card on the penalty foul. The bounce of the ball off the post coupled with the lack of red wound up ending FC's momentum for the rest of the match.

does anyone know when Ishiaku will be ready to play?
It seems like the rumors of him being long term injured when we bought him were true.
I just hope that the others rumors ( that he won`t be fit until the winter break)
are not true.
Vucicevic...... He showed so much potential in the first games of the last season and then he got injured and wham...........nothing. It`s like he lost all his skills.
Radu: one assist and one gained penalty in 2 games is not bad for someone that has only been with the team for a couple of weeks. I am ok with him
He may have been invisible in the last game, but so were many others

Vucicevic was better than Sanou. That guy is awful.
How long ago was Vuci suspended for steroids?

he was banned till may 2006.
He used a hair restorer because he was starting to lose hair back in 2005
I think it is pretty clear that our Lex Luthor gave up any hopes in that regard
Sanou: I wouldn`t give up on him to soon. He kept running and getting stuck in the last game but you have to consider that he hasn`t played a competitive match for quite a long time.
He has everything a good winger needs and I am pretty sure that once he gets used to Bundesliga defending, he can be very important for us

I was reading somewhere that Meier mentioned that he will be back in 5 more weeks. If he is ready to play in 5 weeks is doubtful.
On the other hand I am happy with Radu, just let's all hope that noone of our strikers gets injured.
Nema unfortunately has a problem that he likes the 1:1 situations too much. If he would pass the ball earlier he wouldn't loose it as much and would look like a better player.
I still prefer Brecko over Nema or Sanou though. I hope Womé can catch up to his former glory during his suspension :)

Kicker.de wants to be witty:
"Geht Köln in Baden baden?" [Is Köln going to tank in Baden?]
Kick-off in a few moments. Come on, let's win this one!

Aw hell... who collapsed?
Hate to see stuff like that. :(
EDIT:
It was Özat. Hope he's okay but from the players' reactions it looked serious. Carried off on stretcher. Collapsed with no one around him.

Thumbs up given. I had to say a quick prayer.

It's Ümit Özat. Sounds very serious, he collapsed without being fouled or anything. I'm only following a text commentary, but it says Ümit regained consciousness. I hope he's okay...

What do you mean, is he bald?
It seems the whole team is under shock. Hopefully comforting news from Ümit will get them back on track in the second half.

Halftime
Karlsruher 0:0 1. FC Köln
I'm watching a very bad stream (http://www.justin.tv/atdhe2).
Özat was at his right back position and Karlsruher had the ball in midfield. A replay from a very wide angle showed Özat simply go down with the nearest player about 5 yards away. About 3-4 players immediately signalled to the bench and lots of medical people came running out. It looked like they were trying to prevent him from swallowing his tongue. Players had anguished looks on their faces at the whole situation. After he was stretchered off play was halted for about 2-3 minutes. Then a stadium announcement was made and everyone cheered while the bench gave a thumbs-up sign. Daum was shown wiping a tear. Very scary to watch.
Referee is Florian Meyer.
Nova missing a good chance right on halftime.

Bald ref= Collina ;)

Players looked pretty disturbed. Geromel looked really scared. Now is when they need a "Win it for the Gipper moment" - Win it for Umit.
[Ronald Reagan played Notre Dame football star, George Gip, in a movie and that was his famous line "Win it for the Gipper" as he lay in a hospital bed.]

Club's website reports that Michael Meier says Ümit has been responding to doctors and appears to be okay. He'll spend the night in hospital in Karlsruhe.
2nd half on.

Let's hope so. :)
The match ticker I'm following states that, considering the circumstances, Ümit is okay. He's on his way to a hospital.
