Broich didnt even play in Antars position yesterday so I dont know why youre comparing them.. Broich was playing on the wing..

You are right, but Antar was on the bench and Broich was playing - it seemed we had more chances than usual - and passes were actually being completed.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

Thank you..
Ironically, I find Antar's strongest point to be his passing! Against Bremen his passing was spot on every time and Koln were unlucky to lose that game.. The formation now is more of a 4-5-1 (4-2-3-1), and I feel that Antar would be better suited to a 4-4-2 formation.. It wouldnt leave him as isolated as he is now and it would give him more confidence to move forward..
The second thing is that Novakovic, a proven finisher, cant pass if his life depended on it and the second striker would accomodate him well for those short 1-2 passes and through balls..

Last season Antar's passing was lethal, this season he appears off and can't put in a decent ball. Plus he's missed a few open shots on goal, harder to miss quality.
I think you are right, 442, would be better suited for Antar and the team. Novagol needs a partner, hopefully Podolski (or Kenny Cooper - the rumor I'm starting) ;)

I do agree he has missed some chances.. I believe in him though and hopes he remains in the teams plans..
My eyes are on the Podolski situation, perfect for my 4-4-2 aspirations..

Welcome aboard!
We would all love to see Podolski coming back to Köln, but do we have the money to make it happen? Not if he's supposed to cost even more than two years ago.
Time for another three points by the way. It seems we're running out of steam.

HSV is going to be a tough match, but we need to get the three points.
I think we'll need two goals to win this one.

tommorows game will be very difficult but if we play with same formation as last time we should get something out of this game..i think 4 4 2 is def. better than any other formation daum plays....i will be in the stadium and i hope we can end the halfseason on a high!

Didn't get to see anything after we gave up the 2nd goal - but I hate Womé. We have to get a left back to can actually mark.

not only that, his "longballing" nearly drove me insane today. Since practically none of them reached their target.
well at least Ishiaku looks promising, he made some clever passes and took some
nice shots. I think after the break he and Nova will become lethal.
I still hope we get an attacking midfielder for christmas.

I heard we are looking at a couple of guys from FC Zurich, but neither is a left back.

Looks like a lot of clubs need a LB (Werder, Hertha, Koeln, and I know I'm missing a few)

I doubt that we will get another LB since we already bought 2 this season.
Also Wome` is light and shadow. While he made some awful mistakes he also
had some good games (cough unlike Antar cough) and he has the most assists on the team.
I may bitch about Wome` s longballs, but it is not like our midfield did
anything more creative today.
And lets not forget Brosinski, whom I wouldn`t mind seeing a halftime or two

I heard we were looking at Boateng ( unfortunately not one of the half brothers) but
Derek Boateng midfielder of Beitar Jerusalem and ghanian NT player.
Ive never heard of him but Loddar´s in love.

Mattheaus is in love with him? I can't be sold on guys in the Israeli league.
Brosinski - I forgot about him.
Womé just angers me. Defense first.

i disagree i think wome isnt the best left back but hes not someone to replace at this stage we cant afford it and he isnt all that bad...i also dont believe antar played that bad he was involved in all the attacks and he assisted the goal even tho at times it looked like looked like he positioned too far back..i think that nova can be deadly and is often but he is also VERY inconsistent and unpredicable as a player so it makes it difficult for an attacking midfielder to play with him...we def. need another forward who can help give koln much more possesion in attack...other than nova theres is no one else that has played decent in attack and thats what limits the team going forward...

Womé's marking was responsible for at least two of the last three goals I have seen. He's pretty good going forward, but we can't give up goals on poor marking.
