Tuesday, 22 July, 2008.
Kickoff at 6:30pm CET, 5:30pm GMT, 12:30pm EST.
Television: ATVO
Fresh off of our 2-1 victory over Barnet, it's off to Austria for our annual pre-season training camp. First up, of two matches, it's Szombathelyi H of Hungary. Most likely another mixed starting XI for the Arsenal, but soon the big boys will be back, as I would imagine we would showcase some of them for our friendly against Stuttgart, which is not very far off at all.
GO ON ARSENAL!

I would assume so, but I think we might see a few more regulars (or those who are close to making the first team) play as well.
If Diaby is to be given a shot as partner to Cesc this year, I'd like to see he and Ramsey central midfield for this match. Ramsey isn't exactly like Cesc (but then again no one is) but he does, judging by today, like to make forward runs. Although, I don't expect Arsenal to have to defend as well against Szombathelyi as they would against PL or CL opponents, it will give us an idea of whether or not Diaby has the discipline to cover defensively when playing with an offensive minded CM partner.
Also, I hope Simpson gets another run out, he had a good loan spell at Millwall (led league 2 in goals if my memory serves me) and looked pretty good today.
I would like to see Barazite played as a Striker or a withdrawn striker rather than LM. Also, I'd like to see Wilshere and Ramsey in the same midfield to see if they can start developing some chemistry. Nordtviet also had a really good campaign in the reserves last year and I'd like to see him get a shot along side of one of the 1st team CB's but I don't know who will be available (Senderos maybe?).

He is undefeated so far. When he sustains a loss, the baton will be passed to someone new. We decided that preseason games won't count towards to his record, so he will get to start the first official game of the season.

Only 3 days away tell next game! I'm excited. I could hardly sleep last night, I just wanted the game to start.
How good did Clichy look as captain. Oh captain my captain. Ramsey did really well in my opinon, those through balls could be dangerous if the recieving player has a good first touch.

I can't say this team's name at all. Sounds like a cross between Zombie and Stromboli.

I may have to pull the laptop off the company server and log into the lawyers guest wifi to watch this one (stupid company filters!). Ramsey had a good run on Saturday and I'm looking forward to seeing more from the kids, especially Vela as I haven't seen him play yet.
Also, the match is scheduled for 6:30 pm CET, which would make it 12:30 pm estern, 11:30 am central, right?
