I hope this doesn't get lost in the Supporters sub-forum, but it seems appropriate enough to put it here, to me. :)

In the days since the Quakes' signing of Darren Huckerby, and certainly in the days preceding the signing of that much-needed forward, we've had an influx of Norwich City fans come onto our forum to show their appreciation.

As a moderator on this forum, I wanted to say thank you to them, and let them know that their kind words and actions were certainly appreciated -- and not going away unreturned!

So to the folks from Carrow Road, welcome to our place! And in saying this, a hearty welcome not just to this forum, but to the friendly confines of Buck Shaw Stadium as well, until and long after our own stadium gets built in a couple of years from now.

Well said. From the 1906 Ultras supporters group we say thank you for all the kind words and for showing us how beloved Hucks is back home. If you get the opportunity to watch the games online watch for a tribute to you and the Canaries from our group during the game. I am adopting the Canaries as my championship side in the upcoming season. Cheers

An aside, is there a Norwich City forum at BigSoccer because I didn't see one...

Here is their official website, however:

Yes, those Norwich City fans who have come to visit have been very classy. Nice to see that. We should keep a watch on their club. Maybe start a thread in this section for that purpose.

Good call BT.

And welcome Canaries fans!

gooooo quaaaaaakes!!!! :o

Canaries fans got class. Could see that in years past and present with the kind of support they've shown for their team.

Which begs the question - do we hate on Ipswich now? (Sorry Frank):o

Hello All,

I'm a season ticket holder at Carrow Road and was gutted to see Darren leave, however I'm very much looking forward to him ripping apart defences all over the MLS, he still has it.

Quakes are definately now my second team, i've joined the Facebook fan page and registered on here. I'm also going to be picking up the home shirt.

Good luck and if any of the games are online, you should let us all know as you will get plenty of new fans.

Go Quakes

One way to keep in touch with Huckerby's exploits is to subscribe to the main San Jose Earthquakes forum (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=20). That's probably the best way.

Do that, and you'll get daily e-mail updates on new and updated threads to the forum, and from that, you can pick and choose what's relevant about Huckerby and his progress with the Quakes.

Coventry v Norwich... as luck would have it, two of Huckerby's old clubs! :D

I have to admit, recalling the very first season of the advent of the English Premier League, in 1992-93, I admired the way Norwich played that season, finishing second or third (IIRC) behind Manchester United and perhaps Aston Villa, and being led by a young Chris Sutton up front.

I enjoyed the open style of play Norwich employed that year. They were a lot of fun to watch.

Superb season, the following season we went on our UEFA cup campaign and beat Bayern Munich (still the only British club to beat Bayern in Germany), lost to Inter Milian though.

Still wasn't that long ago we were in the Premiership and beat Man Utd 2-0!!

I think you can watch the games online at http://www.mlsnet.com

Some of the games (most games at Buck Shaw I think) are on mlsnet.com for a price. Most of the games are out there somewhere for free, like channelsurfing.net or justin.tv. The match today is against Toronto, so it will be live for free on cbc.ca I think. I don't know if it will block you if you're in the UK, but if you try to view it from America it won't work. Lousy Canadians and their TV-hoarding.

Lousy Canadians and their TV-hoarding.

BLAME CANADA! And their stupid Canadian Dollar is now worth more than our dollar.

But if there are any Huckerby chants we can learn, please teach us!

We have created one of our own that we will unveil at Buck Shaw on the 27th. I also saw a couple on youtube, but I am sure the Canary fans can give us a couple. We really want to welcome this guy and let him know how happy we are he came here instead of the plastic grass of our northern neighbor. :D

Would anyone be interested in doing a deal with me (a norwich city fan) whereby you send me a SJE earthquake shirt with Huckerby 6 on the back?

Hi all,
Hucks will be top quality for you guys, i'm one gutted season ticket holder!
He made a good impact in your game Vs Toronto before you subbed him. Just to say Darren is not fully fit so don't judge him entirely on his performance!
Will anyone be prepared to help all fellow Canary fans track Hucks's progress in the US?
We have a fans forum like you, it's at http://www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk/page/forcelogin/MessageBoard/0,,10355,00.html so feel free to post!
Go Quakes!
Ohh Huckerby! Oh Hucker Huckerby!

Yes - welcome to all the Norwich fans - its great to see you on these boards. Join us for the rest of our season as it can only improve. Regular home games will help our consistency & change our luck too.
And for San Jose fans - Norwich is a cool second team to support (and place to go visit) - (assuming you're not going to follow Watford in the championship next season).

We should help the Norwich fans populate Carrow Road with San Jose (Huckerby) shirts !!

Hello folks

I am another of those pesky Norwich supporters who've joined in to keep up with how Hucks is doing. Good to see most of you are impressed by what you've seen. With regards to we Norwich supporters you'll find we're the friendliest bunch of football followers in the world... potentially. Me thinks I'll have to acquire a Quakes shirt. Not quite as cool as the yellow and green but its still pretty good :D
