aye.
from what i've heard the Saints legend Le Tiss will come on near the end.
Saints 0

considering it's our first official pre-season match we've looked pretty decent. obviously a little rusty at times but mostly we've been in command. if it wasn't for Davis in goals for Southampton then we'd have been out of sight by now.
he made a good stop from Killen and the big Kiwi also missed a sitter. Skippy has seen the keeper make two good saves from him as well. Aiden has been in good form as has Skoosh. in fact after a sluggish opening 10mins the whole midfield have done well.
solid at the back and Southamptons only threat was from a shot that Mark Brown fumbled but recovered to collect.
hoping to see Sheridan and Koki in the second half.

So far the Hoops are up 1-0 on a Killen goal, now at the half

yep.
nice move it was too. Aiden out wide played a nice ball inside for Skippy. he in turn rolled it inside to Killen who hit a first time shot low into the keepers bottom right hand corner.
really nice finish. no chance for Davis.

It was a really nice goal....
And your right, the SHFC keeper has kept them in the game... He has made some good solid stops

we made 5 changes at HT and it took a while to get rhythm going again. nice run by Samaras to win the penalty and i ain't seen as good a PK in quite a while.
Sheridan came on and worked hard though lacked composure at times. O'Dea and Wilson strolled through it. Samaras won the pen and did a lot of good work outside the box. Donati looked rusty but played better as the second half went on.
Koki and Paul Caddis entered the fray and Caddis looked excellent playing in front of Hinkel. this kid really does have a huge amount of potential. Koki had some nice touches on the opposite wing as well.
Bobo came on late on and young Scott Fox replaced Brown in goal for his debut for the first team.
overall a nice start to our pre-season schedule.

How did he do? Do you think there's a place for him at Celtic?
I thought he was a good keeper with us. Never overly tested but did well when he had to and never made any mistakes. He also made one of the best saves I've ever seen in the flesh.

he only came on for the last 15mins or so but he had a very good save from a Jason Euell drive, tipping it over the bar.
anytime he had the ball he tried to distribute it quick enough. still not convinced with Mark Brown though.
why did he leave East Fife at the January window? he then went on loan to Ayr Utd and never got a game.

He was only on loan for half the season and I think Celtic weren't happy that he didn't play every single game. We switched between Fox and Willie McCulloch a few times although Fox played the majority of games whilst he was here.
That was the rumour going around anyway. If that's true it seems a bit stupid. It was surely better for him to train with Celtic and play for us at the weekend, even if he didn't play every game.
He went to Ayr but I don't think he played many games. Can't think why, he was surely much better than the garbage they were playing in goals.

he didn't play any games for Ayr last season.
i'd imagine he'll be available for loan again this season. although tbh, i'd rather we got rid of Brown and had him or another young keeper as reserve.

it seemed to take paul hartley a very long time to get settled into the game. koki played a few loose passes but i was overall happy with what i saw. killen tooka few chances to get on the scoresheet and he seems very very low on confidence. mcmanus was the man of the match for me.

with so many changes at HT i'd say -
first half - Aideninho
second half - Caddis

no live pictures, only audio, which makes it hard to ascertain how we're playing. although from the commentary it sounds as if Hinkel is struggling today. perhaps it wasn't wise to start him after he played the full 90mins last night. the only other player to play the full 90 last night, Hartley, is on the bench with Donati in his place.
still, a Barry Robson free kick has given us hope for the second half.

Definitely not. Why not play with Caddis or O'Dea?
But well, it's only a friendly...
