To RBNY for???????????

The head of Osorio on a stake, which we then trade to Chicago for McBride.

Which would confirm Ives' report of us shopping a midfielder around the league.

Maybe to Uzbekistan? He can play with Samuel Eto'o at PFC Kuruvchi (http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/feedarticle/7658944).

We still need mid field depth with gallardo now out for a few weeks; would any team be willing to go mid for mid with dyachenko and would whoever we get be an upgrade? Also, what else can we give up to make Rod seem more attractive?

Nah. Knowing NYRB, we'd get Angel and Richards.

Maybe Conde too. Of course, they'd have to find a way to steal him from Chicago first.

Correct me if I'm wrong (and Wiki research seems to imply that I'm not), Rod was selected by Toronto during the waiver draft. He had problems crossing the border (as he wasn't officially a US citizen - he was born in some soviet state or something and moved to Las Vegas or Washington without ever having citizenship to either country) and was stuck in car at the Border for a few days. DC then reacquired him for a 1st round draft pick because an unnamed team offered a 1st round pick for him.

(Here's the wiki quote: Dyachenko was selected in the 2006 MLS Expansion Draft by Toronto FC. He was re-acquired, however, by DC United on February 1, 2007 in a trade for a first round pick in the 2008 MLS Entry Draft.)

Hmmph. I bet NYRB is arrogant enough to trade players they don't have.

Rod has the unfortunate circumstance of not really being a citizen of any country. He doesn't hold a passport.....any passport. Though he's apparently in the process of becoming a US citizen, then he can get a US passport.

Which is good because they don't have a lot of players.

Anyone remember whether La Prensa or this reporter has a good track record/

Goff cites the report but it's not clear to me whether or not he gives it much creedence except to say someone "familiar with the player" said he might be here next week for a trial.

Something tells me the Dyachenko trade speculation is a case of focusing on the wrong midfielder.

Other teams want players with value. Dyachenko has not distinguished himself.

What we're seeing is a poker hand with only half the cards played.

We don't know who we're getting as a backup keeper.

And something else is in the mix. Just a gut feeling but I'm going to state here and now that this will be a much bigger trade than we're expecting.

I'm thinking shake-up. Among the possible outcomes: Gomez back to DC.
Gallardo out. A package of several players traded. All of this is complete speculation but it's in the gut...
