Sounded like a flipin fantastic strike by Cole...hope it's on BBC America on monday.

This guy could just be the real deal and our very own home grown haselbaink.

Owen and Cole the future strike force for England?

Great finish...fantastic game.

Two goals from the forwards and one from the middle of the field. How long since we could boast that.
Lampard does what he was bought for.Cole sounds like the real deal and Zola shows that pre season was no fluke.

However....

There have been many reports and comments from certain players about the lack of "going that extra yard" to use an American expression.
The last two scorers were home grown lads...not British....ENGLISH.....giving it all and busting a gut to get to the ball and put it in the net.The backbone opf uniteds run of the past few seasons.

Perhaps we are turning the corner.

Wish i was there as it must be simply a fantastic feeling right now.

Ranieri looks like a fukin genius now for taking of Hasselbaink and incerting Cole.

Lampard said in the pre-season that he would give his all for this team and i am glad it was he who scored that goal.

One game and he's on the board...great start.

Defence is atrocious though...lets not kid ourselves about it....but we scored 3 and put a bogey to bed today.
Away win to boot........c'mon you blues

:)

Baba is inconsistent, but I have seen him play some high quality games, didn't have a good world cup though and has continued his poor form tonight

Com said Dessa was poor, Terry to be captain sooner then later perhaps?

Has always been acknowledged as a good player going forward...it's his work at the full back position that is suspect.

He has...and was yet again today....been suspect when faced with any sort of spped on the wing.he is continually out of position for angled crosses to the corner where his man usually gets behind him to get in a cross...yet again today.

Last season we were linked to Ian Harte for a spell to sort out the position for once and all but Le saux came back from injury and the talk of a replacement left full sort of evaporated.

It is painfully obvious that we need both Full backs to be replaced with long term purchases. No doubt the left full position will come into it's own again when GLS comes back, but that will only be a temporary fix.

I would love to know what is up with melchiot.
