In the latest edition of the summer Mercato for PSG, France Football is reporting that they will sign any attacker they can get. :D

Seriously,
priority is to still get Briand but Wiltord, Oliveira, Iaquinta and Pizarro are also in the mix. Question for me is where in the hell are they getting the money for Oliveira's transfer and can they afford the monthly wages of the non French players they're after. Hell, there was a balk for one player who'd monthly demands are $240k Euros, so you know anyone coming from Chelsea won't be much cheaper let alone Juventus.

Reading France Football this morning and I'm feeling damn good about PSG. The way the club seems to do business in regards to recruiting players is like being transported to another universe when compared to last season. I like how the club is handling l'affaire du Briand. Rennes supposedly won't budge from their 10 Million Euro request but as PSG says, Kone cost OM 9 million Euros and he's definitely a better player than Briand, yeah he's older but let's keep things in perspective. Adding Mabiala into the mix - valued @ 400,000 Euros and a young player from the academy, I think it's a great deal for both sides. Not to mention Rennes gets to unload someone who's been nothing but trouble since this hasn't gone down as well as someone who just doesn't get along with Lacombe, i.e. Wiltord. By the way, is Lacombe from the Tigana school of managers? Serieux? Who didn't like him at PSG, I was a fan of his til he arrived and saw how damn nearly an entire team revolted on him.

Nicholas, what do you know?

Lacombe is really hot tempered. He had troubles everywhere. At Sochaux there was a feud Pagis Lacombe. It was a huge waste of talent even Plessis blamed it. Sochaux's president was also annoyed by Lacombe's attitude when he wanted to leave Sochaux but kept coaching Sochaux during the pre-season camp.

At PSG, he had a feud with Rothen and Dhorasoo. In my opinion, he made a lot of mistakes as coach and as man. He was unfair and made quick statements on players and never changed his mind no matter what their performances were. In my long list of Lacombe's mistakes there are : fielding cisse as right back and saying that he'll turn into an international player if he kept playing there he said the same about Mabiala, anyway. Fielding Kalou as left winger, Traore instead of Yepes. Fielding 2 defensive midfielders with no L1 experience!

Season 2006/2007, 1st round PSG 2-3 Lorient, best players on PSG side according to the media, me & other PSG fans : Paf & Rothen. Rothen went in CFA (!) after this game. That's relevant of his mentality. He finds players he doesn't like and they are responsible of everything wrong.
After this game he changed everything, yet changing everything after only 1 match is pretty stupid. I have a lot of other things to blame him but it'd be too long.

Lacombe has anger toward PSG even though he was the most protected coach I've seen at PSG. A french international was fired under his era he was more than protected. He thinks he succeed at PSG because he won the FA Cup. Ima, that's another proof of his failure. The team which won it is the one Fournier used to field. Rothen and Dhorasoo were starters, yepes as well. Cisse was a midfielder, Kalou a deep-lying forward and Mendy the right back. Last but not least, Dhorasoo scored. This game was the ultimate proof of how much Lacombe is good at wasting talent.

At Rennes he left out Wiltord of the team but he also benched Didot who is one of their best players. Didot left Rennes for Toulouse.

Even Luis Fernandez admitted how he screwed up with Ronaldinho. When discussing Lacombe, Fernandez mentioned how Lacombe didn't treat his players like men and that probably caused more problems than anything else. Fernandez was actually upset by it, course Luis is 100% PSG and would love to return to PSG. I'm just amazed that he's still managing in L1, thank goodness it's no longer at PSG and I hope Mabiala doesn't go there.
