I wonder if when Göktan comes back from his cold would he fit in at #10 and get the ball to Benny in those spaces?
I think so.

Or would he be better utilized replacing Kucukovic at striker??

Nope. Give DiSalvo or Holebas the chance. Kusuckovic is better utilized as a coaster on an end table in Reuter's apartment.

I know I'd rather keep Ku-SUCK-ovic at striker and put Göktan behind him and Lauth.
Agree. Goektan is the guy to help open things up. But honestly that scares me since, if he goes into poor form means we rely too heavily on one guy. Maybe Kusuckovic will collect 5 yellows realy fast and get suspended to help out the team.

I make fun of Ku-SUCK-ovic, but I actually think he will come good and do better than diSalvo.
Dunno. Jury is out.

And that midfield needs more of an offensive threat than just Bierofka.
Agree. Schwarz was just not there. Bender too pensive and Ledgerwood seemed more keen on doing Bender's job than offensive mid on the outside. Honestly, I think Nick would make a better defensive mid than outside. He tends to defend and see initial space than he does see attacking space.

The match against Mainz won't be easy. They will be hot to make up points after blowing that 3 goal lead to Kaiserslautern at home this past weekend......
Agreed. Mainz are not push-overs. Coupled with the fact we seem to suck at home my tipp is for a 1-1 or 2-2 draw.

Tschauner still scares me. Even the 1860 announcer said that Tschuaner plays like a very good keeper but is known for making "patzers" that are monumental in size.

Another comment that had me laughing: The announcer said that "1860's backline has scored more OG than any other in recent 2.BL memory. In fact, ALL of them had had at least one own goal last season; quite a scoring accomplishment as a team. They should focus their efforts scoring forward, nto backward."

Hey, there are others like him out there.

Dude, I would take Lehmann's big toe over Tschauner any day. Picture someone doing some of Lehmann's really nasty gaffs ONLY 10x as stupid and 10x as risky....without the skill to back it up...and you would have...

Not only that, but he seems to do the shit EVERY WEEK!

As I've said here about 10X before, Tschauner is an athlete, but he seems to have the goalkeeping intelligence of George W. Bush!

He's a f#cking idiot and doesn't seem to learn! I saw the same thing with Darius Kampa when he was with FCN. All the athletic talent in the world, but dumb as a f#cking brick!

And that's exactly why FCN was happy to get rid of Tschauner when he was the lead candidate to succeed Kampa.

Not only was Tschauner beaten out by no less than three other keepers (Rafael Schaefer, Kristian Nicht and Daniel Klewer), Tschauner also reminded them too much of Kampa, who is now the #1 at SpVgg Unterhaching and still looks like he hasn't learned a f#cking thing in his career.

Tschauner seems to be the same way. What is even more tragic about Tschauner is that he tries and just doesn't seem to be able to get it.

Kampa didn't even try. He was a Germany U-19 and U-21 international and thought he was already great.

Tschauner doesn't have such a head problem at all, but he still just doesn't seem to get it.

Tschauner strikes me as one of those guys who will get much better as he gets older or as one like Kampa who will just never get it.

Either way, I don't get why 1860 seems to feel they can't do better. Maybe it's because they made the mistake of giving him that extension through 2011 and they feel they have to go with him.

They probably can't afford to waste the money. But they can do better. They can do better.........

Alright, alright... Maybe I stretched that one just a little bit thin. I admit it.

Ihave no idea why 1860 signed him for that long. It is not like he was friggin' Sepp Maier and showing all that well. He had shown "ok" when the team was hot, coupled with an average run on the U23 team. And yet they sign him to 2011. I think Reuter realizes Tschauner is not all that and a bag of chips which is why they signed Krauss.

And Krauss had a 4-1 win the other day. I would watch that carefully. If Krauss & Co keep playing well I would not be surprised if they give him a chance on the pros.

1860 has a report on their website about a new advertising sponsor in their group. But for some reason....I stopped reading it and have absolutely no clue what they are selling....but whatever it is sign me up for 3 or 4 of them...

Well, your two posts outshined the hundreds of other inane ones already in there.

I've read pretty much all of it up until know, but that's about as much as I can take.

I hate weeding through all the crap posts to find the golden nuggets.

Here's the posted line-up from the website, which Kurz has a habit of changing. ;-) No changes from last week's roster but honsetly would rather see Ledgerwood where Bender or Schwarz. Goektan is suffering from "exhaustion" (wonder what's up there?). Gebhart is not much of a playmaker IMHO so glad he is sitting. Really need more work from all. If Kusuckovc does not do SOMETHING other than convert oxygen to carbon dioxide then he should be benched for DiSalvo. Yes, its early in the season...but 1860 cannot afford to have wasted matter on the field.

Here's hoping Bozo Tschauner does not show up this week.
