I believe his contract is up in June (http://www.transfermarkt.de/de/spieler/1762/thomasbroich/profil.html), so he can go then on a free. Does 1860 wait and court him then or do they negotiate a small fee for a winter transfer? I think much depends on table position and injury recoveries between now and Sylvester.
I'm much more concerned with fielding a healthy club than any issues with table position right now. :)
Also, 1860 was set to pick up Broich once before from Wacker, but he instead went to Gladbach at the last minute. Maybe he's still partial to 1860...

From the 1860 website, the likely line-ups for both sides. A few surprises...well, sort of:
Johnson at wing midfield instead of right wing defense. Where have I heard THAT before? Oh yeah....from ME!!!!!
Thorandt at wing back right. Am a bit at odds with this because he has a tendancy to lose his mark and historically been terrible at this position. Oh well, let's try it.
Mate G back in central defense. Should not have been left off the roster IMHO the last two games but Kurz did not want to overwork him from International duty I guess.
Jungwirth, Burkhard, Eberlien and Baumgartlinger are on the bench from the normal IIs duty.
My tipp? 2-2. I think 1860 might pull this one off if Osnabrueck are caught napping like FSV and Fuerth AND if luck is on our side. Otherwise I expect a hard-fough match that could go either way.
Osnabrück: 33 Wessels - 21 Schuon, 30 Cichon, 2 Anderson, 11 Schäfer - 12 Heidrich, 6 Peitz - 7 Braun, 16 Sykora, 5 de Wit - 9 Reichenberger.
Ersatz: 22 Berbig (Tor) - 4 Omodiagbe, 15 Surmann, 18 Fuchs, 20 Frommer, 23 Touré, 24 Ehlers, 25 Engel, 27 Bernhardt, 28 Grieneisen, 29 Manno.
Nicht dabei: 3 Trehkopf, 17 Thomik (beide Aufbautraining).
1860: 12 Tschauner - 16 Thorandt, 19 Ghvinianidze, 5 Berhalter, 23 B. Schwarz - 17 S. Bender, 6 Beda -18 Gebhart, 33 Johnson - 11 Lauth, 27 Schäffler.
Ersatz: 1 Hofmann (Tor) - 4 Hoffmann, 9 Di Salvo, 13 Jungwirth, 14 Holebas, 20 Burkhard, 24 Kucukovic, 25 Ledgerwood, 26 Baumgartlinger, 28 Eberlein.
Nicht dabei: 7 Bierofka (Bandscheiben-OP), 8 D. Schwarz (Knie-OP), 21 Schroth (Aufbautraining), 22 L. Bender (Syndesmosebandriss).
Schiedsrichter: Lutz Wagner (Hofheim); Assistenten: Tobias Stieler (Obertshausen), Dr. Manuel Kunzmann (Bad Hersfeld).

http://www.tsv1860.de/media/images/2_saison/2008_2009/aufstellungen/osnabrueck-1860.jpgBenny S. was out so Johnson played back and Ledgerwood up in mid for Johnson. 2-0 win which was REALLY lucky for us. The ref called back a decent goal from Onsabrueck in the first half. 1860 had a brilliant goal from Ledgerwood on a through-pass of beauty from Gebhart. Lauth added the second on a wicked cross from Sven. Osnabrueck came at them but jsut could not finish. A very, very lucky three points.
Since most of the teams around us in the table either won or drew, these three points are VERY, very important. We can truly bless our luck because this should have been a draw IMHO.

It is sometimes better, my friend, to be luck than good. 1860 has taken 3 points in three straight. Perhaps that are on to something and playing with some good karma for a change, despite the injuries and off the field issues.

I missed it this weekend. And I can't go to Wednesday's match at the AA against Koblenz. Will be working when the match starts, but should catch most of it on Premiere.
I'm just glad to see Lauth scoring and the team winning matches.

6: Completely Sucked/Should Find A New Profession
Tschauner (2.5): He was solid, well positioned but not really challenged.
Thorandt (3): I thought he had a great game for him, average for others.
Ghvinianidze (4): Wow, am surprised at this....he had a good game. Not sure why he came off as he was locking down the center fine.
Berhalter (3.5): Hmmm....got to tell you that he was the stallwart back there. This is harsh.
Johnson (3.5): Another harsh analysis.
Ledgerwood (3): Geesh....he was HOT. Would have given better.
Beda (2.5): Someone is smoking....he was just average.
S. Bender (3): Fair.
Gebhart (2): Spot on....he was GREAT!!!!
Lauth (3): Average.....but nice goal.
Schaeffler (3.5): Agree....he was off.
T. Hoffmann (3.5 - Came in for Ghvinianidze in the 52nd minute): Honestly think he had a decent match but not his usual performance.
EDIT: Beda and Gebhardt both made kicker's 2nd Bundesliga "Elf des Tages" or "Team of the Week"

Dude, I tell these guys here at BigSoccer and on our list all the time that while the Kicker ratings are usually the best ratings you can get from the German media, in the end, they are still just another man's opinion.
What's bad is that so many people ASSUME these ratings are "expert opinions."
I know through the guys I know in the German media that not all of them are "experts". Many of them are just pretty good writers who happen to write about football.
When it comes to an 1860 match I didn't see, I trust your opinion over some dude at Kicker.......

Well, you know how harsh I can be.:D Honestly, Beda was there on the pitch, but cannot recall a whole lot he did of note. On the other hand, Berhalter and Mate G. were solid in the back, rarely losing a challenge. Sven, to be honest, had one of his better matches. He did not "tank" in defensive midfield like he usually does. Gebhart was ALL over the place. Ledgerwood was VERY solid. Hell, HE would have been the other guy I would have picked for the Elf des Tages. He frustrated the offensive and still overlapped for a GREAT, cooly-taken goal.
If I had to pick disappointing performances I'd have to go with:
Schaeffler: Just seemed off and never in the groove.
DiSalvo: OMG, he screwed a real sitter.
That's it. Everyone else had average to very good games. Gebhart had the kind of game that will have the Scouts back looking at him. Ledgerwood is making a name for himself. Beda, Lauth and Thorandt were average for their ability and experience. Berhalter was typical Gregg from last year; always there and strong presence.
Man, how much do you get paid to sit in the stands and watch footy as an "expert" I want THAT job.

Berhalter in an interview (http://www.eyep.tv/2.-bundesliga/tsv-1860-munchen/1860-munchen-gregg-berhalter-altersfrei.html) with the press after practice today. Reporter asks him, "How do you guys feel being just 6 points away from a promotion slot?" Gregg's retort? "And how many places away from a relegation spot? Look, we are taking all of this one game at a time. We are not looking up or down, just to the next game."
Boy has class. By the way, the answer to gregg's question is 4 points. The middle of the table is VERY compact right now. The next 3 games are going to set the pace for the rest of the season. We have Koblenz, FCK, Oberhausen with FCK being the away game. After that we have the games below. If we can concentrate and take max points on our home games we should be in good stead for the break. Crossing fingers.....

Nice to see young Nik get his first 1860 goal in the Bundesliga 2 (he scored for Wacker Burghausen two seasons ago while out on loan). Great run by Nik and pass by Gebhart.

Check out the Berhalter interview. Seems they call him "Ledgi" because he was getting tired of "Nicki". I think he had a brilliant game. He was everywhere and frustrated the hell out of the other team, never letting them turn to attack. His runs on the flank really kept them busy. The coolness with which he scored was first class. He was my MoM if not Gebhart.

He was a bit slow at first, looked to be lazy in midfield defensively and seemed to make a lot of lost passes. In the last 3 games he has come in to his own. He is filling in nicely in Goektan's role. He is still not a natural #10, but he is a good attacking forward. When you think that most of his supporting team mates are all under 22, you really realize the potential of some of these kids.
Sven Bender, who before the injuries to so many other player I considered to be marginal, has really stepped up too. Benny Schwarz is quicly becoming another Marcel Schaeffer. Fabian Johnson is proving a very versitile wing back or midfielder. The youth is truly amazing. More amazing is when you look back 18 months ago most of these kids were playing U19 ball for 1860 in the A-Jugend.:D

Here are the line-ups. No change from the Osnabrueck game. Benny Schwarz is listed as questionable. My guess is Kurz does not play him unless absolutely necessary. We need three here and they will likely focus on pressing the counter like they did against Onsabrueck. TuS will likely play for a quick counter and play defensive hoping for a point. I'll bet Kurz studied BOTH the TuS-FCK and TuS-Hansa to see both the spectrums of how these guys can play.
Frankly, I would like to see 1860 give them a right ass-kicking, though these games usually are very close the last few years.
Possible line-ups:
1860: 12 Tschauner - 16 Thorandt, 19 Ghvinianidze, 5 Berhalter, 33 Johnson - 17 S. Bender, 6 Beda, 25 Ledgerwood - 18 Gebhart - 11 Lauth, 27 Schäffler.
Bench: 1 Hofmann (Tor) - 4 Hoffmann, 9 Di Salvo, 13 Jungwirth, 14 Holebas, 20 Burkhard, 24 Kucukovic, 26 Baumgartlinger, 28 Eberlein.
Questionable: 23 B. Schwarz (Adduktorenprobleme).
Not Available: 7 Bierofka (Bandscheiben-OP), 8 D. Schwarz (Knie-OP), 21 Schroth (Aufbautraining), 22 L. Bender (Syndesmosebandriss).
TuS: 1 Yelldell - 22 Cha, 24 Mavric, 18 Richter, 3 Wiblishauser - 6 Hartmann, 5 Bajic - 28 L. Bender, 10 Krontiris - 35 Taylor, 9 Kuqi.
Bench: 33 Weis (Tor) - 13 Lomic, 16 Begeorgi, 17 Parmak, 19 Djokaj, 20 Fernandez, 25 Ouedraogo, 27 Göderz, 30 Mader, 32 Schmidt, 36 M'Boma.
