And tonight, they played well in the second half, but really just didn't seem to want it badly enough.....
Yeah. have to agree. Pauli just sat back and were content that 1860 could not penetrate the defense. 1860 played like my 10 year olds; they jsut keep dribbling straight into the box, refusing to creat space on the flanks and pop the ball in. Very second rate.

Why am I mad? Because Pauli looked like a f#cking 3rd Bundesliga team and still beat Sechzig!
For my money Pauli were the better team teh first 20 mins. After that they looke like hacks. Spot on for the second half though, Keith....Pauli looked real third rate. And that is an insult to third rate teams everythwere.

Why won't Kurz start Gebhart??!!!
He has and he has never played like he does when he comes off the bench. Strange but true.

I'll be there for the match against Ingolstadt and if I see more shit like this, I'm yelling for Kurz' head right there at the f#cking stadium!
Honestly, if they don't take Ingolstadt at home I would agree if they got rid of Kurz. At that point if the team cannot beat them they will deserve teh 3.BL.

EDIT: Benny Lauth is SHIT!! Complete and utter SHIT!
Well, I think he was slightly better than shit, but not much. I think DiSalvo is done for. He did nothing today, literally nothing. I think Schaeffler just got the starting nod.

Now for the REASON we lost? THORANDT! Picture a punt from the keeper landing 30 meters out, the forward sprinting and two defenders just trotting back. That is what happened. Thorandt just simply GAVE UP and let Tschauner all alone. Bush league goal to give up.

Tschauner, on the other hand, had a good game and really saved it from being 0-2. Have to say he has put in two good games and deserved better than to lose that one that way. His defense let him down....again.

He isn't worse than that piece of crap Lauth!![/quote]

Wow...my weekend just got better. And at home no less.!!! And 0-5 down!!!!

Has got to be one of the worst defeats in a LONG time for Bayern at home.

Well, maybe not as happy a weekend as I had wanted... Kicker Ratings below...

Tschauner (3,5): Too harsh...he had a good game and kept it from getting uglier.
Thorandt (5): At fault for the goal. Reasonable score.
Ghvinianidze (4,5): Could have been a 5 IMHO. He was as dismal as Thorandt but did not directly give up the goal, but was nearby and could ahve done more.
Berhalter (3,5): Generous. His "patzer" almost gave away a second goal. But he was the better of the defenders.
B. Schwarz (4): Disappointing but not as bad as a 4. 3,5 would have done for me.
L. Bender (3): WAY too generous. The fact he was better than last week should not mean a 3. He was not the best player on the pitch.
Ledgerwood (4): Correct.
Johnson (4): Correct.
Bierofka (4): A bit harsh, 3,5 would have done.
Lauth (5,5): 5 I would have said. He was better than Toni.
di Salvo (5): Generous. He was aweful. HE should have had the 5,5.
Gebhart (3,5): Agree.
Schäffler (4): Agree...could have brung more especially down 0-1 and knowing that he has a starting position on the line with the poor striking performances so far.
The good news is the defense is holdling like it did during the flops last spring. They are not getting overrun and scored upon at will. The mental lapses and give-aways are killing us right now. We used to be a team that controlled the air int he back, now no longer. Ball control from defense to mid is a huge issue. Not anticipating in the middle defense is costing us dearly.

I don't agree. I would have given Lauth a "6" myself. Totally f#cking useless and looked afraid to break a sweat on more than a few plays.

I guess 5.5 is close enough, but IMO, Lauth was total f#cking crap in Hamburg on Friday.

Was listening to Munich radio yesterday. Of course, they all think Kurz' job is at stake in tonight's Cup match against Duisburg.

Garry, do you get the Cup matches with your LowenTV internet service??

Not going to argue that. I can see how one would be of that opinion. But if I knew nothing about the prodigal son thing with him and simply showed up to the match to rate a striker, not sure I would trash him that bad. But given his rep, yeah, I could see 6 for not playing to potential.

Dunno, we did last year except the Bayern match. I hope we do. I tell you, if those guys don't step out on to that field and leave every fricking thing out there (especially after that crap goal they gave up Friday) they are garbage. Looking at the table, I think THAT is the only saving Kurz right now. The fact that our record is SOOOO sucky but we are still practically mid table with only 3 points speaks to how poor many other teams are playing. Any other year and Kurz is done after Friday's game. I think he has a few more weeks left but he better be on 10 points by end of mid October or he is toast.

Hmmm....odd. None of computers at home can resolve the address and they are not blocked. Odd.

Probably no difference, but I was able to get in using both IE and Firefox.

My feelings have nothing to do with his past. They have to do with what I saw Friday night.

It wasn't even "not playing to potential." He was just total shit in my opinion. I didn't expect him to carry the team, but I expected more than that completely shi#ty effort he gave

There's not much difference between a 5.5 and a 6.

I don't usually put much in what the kicker guys think anymore, but it tells me I'm not being overly harsh.

Maybe you're being a bit easy on him to make sure you're not being unfair to him because of his past??

A shit effort is a shit effort no matter what your name is or what your past is like.

I changed my mind and was going to go to the match, but I'm feeling a bit under the weather and it is already pretty chilly here, so I'll watch it on Premiere.

I think if they don't give a better effort than they did on Friday, Kurz is toast after tonight.

Other than that, I agree with you. I think they can lose tonight, but if they give a great effort, Kurz will be "all right."

I hope Kurz gets the hint and puts Thorandt on the bench.

I'd hate to see Kurz get the axe, but it may have to be done. Sounds like the players are quitting on him.

When in the heck is Göktan coming back? He'd help fix a lot of offensive problems.

Man, that was close.

Great, penalties. Groan...

Let's go Tschauner.

This is the poorest football I've seen in awhile. I didn't expect all that much out of '60, but tonight, in my opinion, both these sides looked terrible.

Phew, thank you post. And Tschauner didn't have to save a single one.

EDIT: I thought it was off the post. But I saw it was off the keeper on the replay.

1860 is through!!

Bierofka's final penalty kick for 1860 was "stopped" by the Duisburg keeper, but it trickled over the line to give 1860 a 5-4 win in penalties!!

Duisburg's Cedric Makiadi shot over the 1860 goal for Duisburg's only miss of the penalty shootout.

I was wondering if Tschauner only knows how to dive one way. I could have sworn he dove the same way for every shot.

I don't know that I'd agree with that comment. He sure as hell was no solution last season.

I thought he dove to the right every time as well.

Lucky, but still through.
