Gebhart hugged someone else first. I think even two others. He was with Kurz for not even a few seconds as I remember. But you have the video, I may not remember properly.
Johnson chased after him as he took his shirt off heading towards the middle, then sideline. The youth coach, who was on the bench ran out to greet him, but he was clearly heading straight for Kurz. Then, of course, he thanked his girlfriend in the stands, then God....in that order.:D

So, and forgive me for not knowing this, but is it known whether the players are siding with Kurz or, perhaps in a better way to say it, supporting him in this mess?
From what I have heard he is very popular with both management and players. I think anyone who has watched the games know that 1860 have dropped 3 games to 2 promotion candidates and one average team playing well enough to be in the top 4. Shit, looking at the table 1860 has played 3 of the top 4 teams so far and they have been CLOSE in each game.

I think anyone with any club management experience knows that: 1) if your team supports your manager, 2) you have had close losses, 3) your injuries have been an issue but are not insurmountable, then you simply do not throw the baby out with the bath water.

Now, obviously there is a limit to how bad it can get, but I don't think Kurz will be in danger unless he continues this lose 3, win 1 trend. He will need to be at mid table by Xmas or I think he is toast. If he ends up back down at the bottom of the table again, I think he will be done before Turkey Day.

All of that is not to say it is completely out of the realm of possibility for Sechzig to have a solid run for promotion though, correct? Or is this not that year?

Dude, nothing is impossible, but I think the chances of this being "that year" are slim to none.

But then again, I said the same thing before the season about Kaiserslautern and look at what they're doing now.......

If this is "that year" then next year will probably be the year we achieve the lowest point total ever in the 1 BL. I'm for a gradual build up, personally.

No one could be as bad as Tasmania Berlin, dude. THAT was a pathetic year. 9 pts all season if I remember correctly.

I do not want to start up the band wagon yet, but I saw good things yesterday. Gebhart had a good game on the wing, as did Johnson. DiSalvo will likely not see the grass again as a starter; Schaeffler put him to shame. B. Schwarz had an amazing game.

Side Note: Adler came on to whistles in the 83rd and was not very impressive.

Dude, anything is possible..... Not saying 1860 would be that bad, but anything is possible.

That's not hard to do. I told you last season how sorry diSalvo is.

B. Schwarz had an amazing game.

If by "amazing", you mean pretty darned good, then I agree.

He made a bad move going to Duisburg. He would have been OK had Meyer never been fired in Nürnberg.

But then again, I doubt he had many offers. Would Bommer have known him from '60, or was Bommer before Adler's time Garry?

Yes, darn good. But, when you consider this guy has not had a game yet having picked up a small injury in training, came on the field cold and had the game he had....I think that pops up the "darn good" just a bit more. World class? Hell no. Worthy of a bit more than "darn good"? Sure....give him a Sonic gift certificate.:D

Yes, in fact, and this is pure conjecture on my part, Bommer (http://www.fussballdaten.de/spieler/bommerrudolf/) MAY have had something to do with Adler (http://www.fussballdaten.de/spieler/adlernicky/) coming to 1860. both arrived at the same time and it is "possible" that Bommer had hold of the scouting organization and had Adler pulled from Leipzig. I do NOT know that for a fact, but given that Bommer was coach of the pros the same time Adler was brought to the IIs it is possible. At very least he would have had reports of the kid's performance in the IIs that year...31 games, 12 goals.

Of course, he has not scored a goal since leaving 1860.:D

Maybe a bit more than "darned good", but I think a bit short of "amazing" too.

I guess it depends on how we use the words.

Well, what would you say after sex if it was better than "darn good" but short of "amazing"?:D And don't answer that all sex with you is amazing.

And I guess 1860 has been doing so hot in that same period???

I'd say "Pretty f#ckin' good!" (Insert huge smile)

No way I could make that sex answer. If that were true, I wouldn't be divorced! LOL!! ;)

I'm killing that so quickly, there won't be a chance! LOL!! (Insert clip of me falling over laughing!)

Did anyone here know that the Champions' American-Style Sports Bar in the Marriott Schwabing is an 1860 bar??

I didn't know until I looked it up this past weekend. I'm trying to go there this weekend to catch the BVB game on Sunday.

Yeah, I knew it. I have a fundamental problem with US businesses like this "taking over" Germany. Here's the video link....

Especially this time of year. Football and bier....what could be better? Well, at least what could be better than you can do in public and not get arrested?

Well last weekend we had the Octoberfest on the base at the Arsenal. I had worked all day and was too tired to go on Saturday. Sunday we already had plans, but someone had told us "oh the Oktoberfest in Cullman is way better!"

Better in that they don't serve beer. WTF is that? How do you have an Oktoberfest without beer.

Garry, I wish I'd found this message last night. I'll watch the video when I get home tonight. For some reason, it won't run here at the office.

But reading the text below it, I can't really see how they can say it is going to be the meeting place for 1860 fans and the players.

I suppose they can make the players go there, but they can't make the fans.

They have ticked me off already by telling me they won't put one TV on the Hoffenheim-BVB match on Sunday.

So, I'm going to come home on Saturday night, watch BVB on my own flatscreen on Sunday evening and then go back to Munich. I have Monday off, so the lady friend and I are going to Oktoberfest during the day on Monday too.

But I will stop at "Champions" once I'm back in Munich to watch the early NFL game and have dinner.

And I'll wear my old BVB-1860 friendship scarf......... ;)

Yeah that would be odd. As you know ANY US sports bar would run a at least 1 TV on EVERY game just in case there was one schleep who wanted to watch that game. I guess the German version is to force you to watch the game THEY want you to watch.:o
