Its either his contract says he dosent have to or he is injured I belive.

Rather have him sit this out and heal, and we lose in this meaningless tournament, than have him missing for league play. C'mon.... pay alittle more attention ok?

Rumor has it he's on his way to Germany tomorrow for surgery on his groin.
I believe it's the same doctor that performed the same surgery on Namoff last season. If I recall, Namoff was back in only a matter of a few weeks.

How the hell would any player in MLS, or any other league in the world, have a clause in his contract stating he can skip games during the season?

We discussed it over the last few days in the injury thread (http://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=718341). I posted there this past Sunday about him maybe going to Germany ; the rumor came from a pretty reputable source. Then Will Chang confirmed it yesterday afternoon at the Barra tailgate.

apparrently he is going to Germany today to see a hernia specialist to see if surgery is needed. Perlata is going also. http://blog.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/
