football gives supporters many emotions and i was wondering what some of you rank as your greatest and worst moments as a football fan.

for me a few of the best moments would be when we beat rangers 6-2, when we stopped them from winning 10 in a row, us winning 3 in a row recently, and beating boavista to reach the uefa cup final in 2003. also, when scotland beat france home and away. as well as john collins penalty vs brazil in 98. :D

i was far too young to follow the early nineties so i missed alot of the disappointments of that era for celtic. helicopter sunday was bad, even though its been pretty much redeemed last season. losing 5-0 at artmedia bratislava was terrible as well. beating kilmarnock 4-0 and still losing the league by a goal, just days after the seville defeat. especially since thompson missed a penalty and larsson hit the post. the worst though was losing to italy 2-1 on that dodgy freekick. very painful defeat. :(

My best moment was the DFB Cup final win with BMG in Berlin 1995 (I was live at stadium among the 40,000 Gladbach fans). Great team that was with Effenberg, Dahlin, Andersson, Lupescu & Co. (we managed to beat Arsenal twice in the UEFA Cup of the following season)...
The worst moment was the last-minute home defeat to Hamburg 2 years ago, when everybody knew we wouldn't be able to avoid relegation.

The best moment I experienced in the Hoops dress, was the UEFA Cup away game in Stuttgart 2003. 15,000 Celts at stadium and a huge party before, during & after the match...
Last year's title celebration at Tennadice was a great moment, too. :-)
Worst moment with Celtic: When I got the SMS news from those 2 late Motherwell goals which costed us the SPL title (I attended a Fürth away game with a few Celtic & Fürth friends at that time ... and we were simply 'shocked' for the rest of the day).
Well, Bratislava was horrible as well (happy I didn't manage to make the trip with my friend Matze)...

Best moment I experienced with Juve: The last-minute CL away win at Olympiastadion Munich in front of 10,000 Juve tifosi.
Worst moment with Juve: The day when the club got punished with relegation & points deduction for that idiot Moggi.

two best moments that stick out for me more than all others.

1) Seville

easy answer but it was a brilliant three days. we were staying in Edinburgh at the time and it was a great trip from start to finish. the train through to Glasgow. flight to Gatwick. flight to Madrid. then final flight to Seville. camping at a campsite not far from the airport with thousands of other Celtic fans.

the Tuesday night was better than the Wednesday as it was jam packed by then. sitting in a restaurant at 11pm having dinner. half Celtic fans, half Porto fans. taking turn singing songs. mixing for photos. Spanish waiters loving every minute of it.

meeting your mates and listening to how they travelled to get there. Wednesday was scorching hot. we moved out of the city centre and started heading towards the stadium which was about an hour walk from their. no Porto fans in the city centre, that we could see. but once you walked for 20mins or so they started to appear in bars. when we got to the river we sat at a bar with Porto fans and swapped scarves and stories before heading onto the stadium.

got into the stadium nearly 2hrs before the match was kicking off and it was nearly full already. great atmosphere. great game. gutted to lose but it was a terrific experience that i'll never forget. watching the odd video of it on youtube always brings back such happy memories. this is the best video by far.

2) Cheerio to 10-in-a-row

i was almost physically sick before this game and i had hardly had a thing to drink. such was the anxiety i felt before it. as did many others.

when Larsson hit the back of the net 60,000 fans were swept away on a wave of euphoria. Harald made it safe and what a party it was for the rest of the day and night.

worst moment?

in a footballing sense it was probably losing the title at Motherwell. that hurt. we threw that away so badly.

but the worst moments have been the legends that have passed away and especially the two that were lost this year, Tommy Burns and Phil O'Donnell. Shankly was wrong. i love supporting my team but there are things that are more important than football.

My 8 friends (2 of them had tickets) enjoyed their Seville trip as well...;)

Yeah, that really hurt. Seeing Fritz Walter pass really hurt me as well.

My Best Moment? I happened to be in town and I'll never forget it.

That was the so-called "King Otto fairy-tale" (winning the title with a newly promoted team)...;)

Great revenge he took against Bayern! :-)

Anytime we beat Celtic is the best moment at the time!

A couple of things stick in my mind.

Best moment. Being at the Rangers Marseille game in the 92/93 champions league. It was 2 - 0 to Marseille and we came back to get a draw. It was the atmosphere in the ground. It was just so good! Never experienced the likes since. Ibrox can be so dead these days.

Bad moment. Having to get away from Ibrox after a Rangers Aberdeen game was cancelled with everyone in the ground. Police were not ready for that! I can just remember my dad dragging me away as the police horses charged the Aberdeen fans.

I have loads of other ones but those are the two that come to mind.

Yeah that is tough but it is much better here than it was say 14 yrs ago. We at least have the dish and a couple of leagues now. Much better but still doesn't beat Easter Road, eh?

It's better, but I still haven't lived anywhere close to a professional team since returning. Watching on tv is one thing, but attending regularly is another. I did enjoy watching Wake Forest when I was in Winston, and I've recently started playing again...but still, it isn't the same. I think I'm getting old and jaded too--I can't remember the last time I got to watch a game when I didn't have to explain the most basic rules to somebody, and I'm just not that patient anymore.

I'm lucky I guess. I can watch on T.V. I have the Portland Timbers and I have an indoor league (that I play in) close by. The NW is BLESSED! :)

Did I mention the Irish bar down the street that has and shows most of the soccer channels?

Playing opportunities were good in NC--I played in an open league, a coed, an indoor, WFU intramurals, and the Mexican league.

Anyhow, best moments are the Portugal opener in the 02 World Cup, my first derby, and cussing out Dwight Yorke and Russell Latapy shortly before their infamous drunk driving incident.

Worst is a toss up:

Either watching Scotland lose 3-1 to Peru in Argentina '78, or, more likely, the second the ref blew the final whistle in the 2003 UEFA Cup final. Or maybe Skippy's goal against us three years ago...

Best:

Almost too many to mention.

Celtic beating Rangers 4-2 in '78; Tommy Burns's goal at Tannadice to help clinch the title (I was there); all of the UEFA run in '03 until the final; The 6-2 game; the 5-1 game; McFadden's goal in Paris plus many more.
