OK now that Samir is here and the first preseason friendly is only a week away, its time to start thinking about the new season.
1. Who will be this years revelation like Flamini was last season?
2. Who will be this seasons Theo walcott? A player who shows his promise and gets us all stoked about his bright future?
3. Who might be our loaned out player that we all follow closely like Vela last year?
My thoughts are as follows
1. One of Diaby, Song or Eboue. all three have been subject to some abuse around here but I can see all of them having a major impact on our season if they get regular playing time or atleast develop in the position they already play (Eboue).
2. Vela. He scortched Sergio Ramos once last year and I think we will see glimpses of his class again this year but it will take him this season to adjust to the prem and develop in our system.
3. This is a tough one since we don't know who all will be out on loan this year. I'll vote for Kerea Gilbert. He is very talented but seems to have an attitude problem. I expected him to be released or sold this season but going out on loan tells me AW may still have plans for him. If he gets his head on straight and performs to his ability I think he has a brighter future than Justin hoyte. Others who maybe loaned out like Fonte, Merida, Botelho, Gibbs, Lansbury etc. could also be fun to follow.
so who are your picks?

i'm with you on 1 and 2
as for 3. I don't think it'll be Kerrea because I think this season-long loan will turn into a permanent deal in January.

1. Who will be this years revelation like Flamini was last season? I'm hoping Song, or Senderos, Djourou. Someone to step up on the backline. Who is in the last year of their contract? That'll motivate.
2. Who will be this seasons Theo walcott? A player who shows his promise and gets us all stoked about his bright future? Denilson, Ramsey
3. Who might be our loaned out player that we all follow closely like Vela last year? Merida,.

1. Song. He catches a lot of grief from supporters, but he had a good run of matches last spring and apparently impressed during the African Cup. He's poised for a breakout season.
2. I'll go out on a very long and narrow limb (because I've never seen him play) and say Ramsey. He's got loads of potential and I expect him to have a few shining moments during our Carling Cup run this season, based only on that potential.
3. I agree with you on Gilbert.

1. For my money it's going to be Diaby. I absoloutely love his style of play and think he will fully blossom into an Arsenal star this season. I want to see him given the chance to play in the middle with Cesc, I think that pairing could be the most dynamic in the Prem.
2. I think Vela will be the guy that will wow us and have us excited for what's next. He's a guy who I'm eagerly anticipating to see in the Arsenal red and white and I have a lot of faith that he will be quality.
3. I'm gonna go with Barazite, I heard that he'll be going to loan to Spain. I feel like he has an emmense amount of potential. Definitely an exciting prospect.

1. Theo
2. Ramsey
3. Barazite (or Wilshere if you count our reserves as an other team to follow)

1. Djourou. as a DM. he's shown that he can be good, but has lacked consistency. This could be his year to tighten his game, and play a major role at this club.
2. Traore. as a winger. young, speedy, talented, and showed that he's close to making his breakthrough at very end of last season; his assist showed that he could play a vital wide role that we need. Like Theo was last season, he may not be ready to play 90 minutes, and will be inconsistent and frustrating at times, but I think he'll do well.
3. Merida. He's still quite young, but the more playing time he gets the better. I think by next summer we'll be anxious to see what he can do for our first team.

1. Abou Diaby... Flamini x 100
2. Fran Merida (because we know how good Vela is)... maybe Ramsey
3. No clue, we should probably wait until players are loaned out (not Kerrea Gilbert as he will be sold)

1. Rosicky - all he has to do is stay fit and that alone would make him the season's revelation.
2. First pick: Denilson - I think he is very underrated, and if it weren't for his injuries last year, he would have continued on the fast track to significant minutes.
Second pick: Song - He looked pretty good at CB last season for a newbie. I think with a little more time, he will make the 3rd spot his and prove to be a more than capable back up.
3. Who knows? If I had to guess it would be Randall. From what I have seen, he still seems about a year or so away from making the jump to the first team. I think a loan would do him good; however, I don't really know if that is in the cards.

lots of people are saying merida for #2. I'd love it if he saw first team action, but I thought the idea was another year in spain. I'm also not sure if he's quite ready.

all i have to say is i hope theo and ramsey have good season... i'd love to see some brits produce the goods for us...wouldnt mind seein a bit of mark randall this season and the other young talent of, vela, denilson, merida, barazite etc is exciting and it really doesnt matter who makes an impact just as long as someone does...it will be interesting to see who of these boys get some pre-season games..ultimately i really only think theo will make an impact this season and the others are at least a season or 2 away..

1. Sagna (altho its arguable maybe he already has)
2. Nordtveit, Merida or Barazite (Gibbs has already shown first team promise in the past)
3. Pedro
I will also be keeping a close eye on Lansbury this year.
