...Think its okay for the Board to take the club's money and put in their pockets instead of spending it to imporve the team no matter how much harm that does to the team.

True fans MUST think this as I do not and as many of you think

I think the difference is that he is not a true fan....

So by the logic Wanye and many others have used to determine what a real fan is a real fan doesn't care if we ever win anything again so long as the Board can make money each year. After all real fans dont as many of you think

I disagree, but that's just my opinion. It is one thing to be critical of certain things: It is another to be critical of every aspect of the club

If that were even close to true it might merit consideration, but it isn't. I am concerned because we are not re-investing the money we are making right now back into the football team. There is ample and pretty strong actual and circumstantial evidence that supports this view. It is my singular concern because as I see it it impacts or can impact every aspect of the operation of Arsenal Football Club and the success we can achieve. That is my single main concern and if that makes me less than a true fan again I guess you don't care what happens to the football team so long as the Board have a few million more pounds. Because I care what happens to the football team first and I'm not a true fan.

Some of you seem to think being a true fan means "either you're with us or against us..."
That one has really worked out too...

For ********'S sake...can we just make a subforum called "Incessant Bitching about the Arsenal Board", move all these threads there, restrict Martin Daoust from posting ANYWHERE ELSE and have done? Even I'm getting sick of this shit, and I try to avoid these threads like the plague.

Martin,

I actually agree with you on some of your points, but this horse is dead and buried, so whipping it further ain't gonna get you anywhere.

I don't want to slag off another Arsenal supporter, but really if you want unlimited spending maybe you can try to check out the Chelsea forum or if you prefer trophies, the United forum. If you choose the former, I'm sure that GoonerBlue can make some introductions and if you decide to go with the latter, Billy Ireland and Teso seem ok. Well, Billy does anyway...

Really, you've made your points and there's some validity to some of 'em, but please for the love of all things holy, let it go.

It's not dead enough yet, hit it harder.

This thread had nothing to do with the Arsenal Board so much as another poster attacking my support of the club - saying I was not a "true fan" because of my differing views from his about the club. Had I seen the posts in the thread where they were posted before it was closed I would have replied tothem there.

The real point is this - questioning someone supporting a football club because they disagree about certain aspects of its operation is no different than, say a fellow churchgoer questioning your faith in your god because you don't agree with a certain passage in the Bible or Talmud or Koran, or a view expressed from the pulpit. Its no different than someone questioning your patriotism because you don't support the invasion of Iraq or the suspension of habeus corpus.

What I posted above was every bit an illogical and baseless and unfair conclusion about some Arsenal supporters than those put forth about me and other who think like me, no matter what the difference in opinon behind them. As far as I'm concerned that's what this is really about, and that's that.

Martin, why are you starting a brand new thread just to respond to Wanye's post? Is there a reason that you couldn't respond within the thread he posted in? Is his post, which you quoted, in a locked thread?

Edit: Never mind. You answered my question with your response posted while I was drafting it.

Absolutely - the last transfer thread, pgs 47 and 48 or 46 and 47....otherwise as i said I wouldn't have done this. But I felt I had to reply and publically. BTW I would like to publically thank Silock for standing up on my behalf while I could not ( sorry...)

EDIT: I didn't read the last line before replying - my bad...

Well this new thread is as good a place as any to say it.....

Guys, gals, etc., Please lay off the personal attacks and/or questioning folks bona fides as Arsenal supporters. Differing opinions and even arguments regarding those opinions are fine.....but let's stop making things personal. If someone bothers you that much.....just ignore them.

None of the regulars who post around here as much as they do....would do so if they weren't genuinely concerned about the club.

Now since the point the OP wanted to make was made.....thread closed.
