Hleb on his personal website completely denies making the comment that Cesc is more selfish in front of goal. I think his denial is sincere and that the scuzzy rag that interviewed him probably twisted everything he said out of context.

Still, even if he never said it, the very idea of it has been reported and could get into Cesc's head. Last season Cesc scored as many goals in the Premier League as Hleb did over the last three seasons. How did he do it? He shot more. Low and behold he found the net more often.

The last thing Arsenal needs is to have one of its leading goalscorers second guessing himself when he has a look at goal. There is already enough of this going on as it is, with our "one-more-perfect-pass-will-lead-to-a-goal" style of play.

So, Cesc, if you are out there googling your name and happen to see this, "Keep Shooting!" You are brilliant!

The title of the thread is a bit silly. It's not an audible forum, so he can't 'listen' to your written request for him to shoot. "Cesc, if you are reading, "Shoot!".." perhaps...

But then again, I doubt he reads the forum either...

Come to think of it, why did you actually create this thread, when there are at least 2 more existing threads you could have posted this revelation idea in?

I didn't write this to inspire the wrath of the downers who decided to reply.

I thought it was a valid point that regardless of the truth of the statement, if Cesc gets it into his head that people think he shoots too much then next season we'll have him doing his best Hleb imitation and never shoot.
