Our first playoff game will be against the #2 team from the Southeast Division.
Who will that be?
This thread's for tracking the next couple weeks over there.
Here's the current standings:
Pts GP W L T GF GA
Central Florida Kraze 31 12 10 1 1 33 11
Atlanta Silverbacks U23's 22 13 7 5 1 30 21
Bradenton Academics 21 11 6 2 3 31 11
Carolina Dynamo 20 11 6 3 2 24 19
Cary RailHawks U23's 20 13 6 5 2 27 25
Panama City Pirates 18 12 5 4 3 28 14
Nashville Metros 6 13 2 11 0 9 31
Palm Beach Pumas (-4) -1 13 1 12 0 9 59
There's still a lot of games left to play, and Bradenton and Carolina could still knock Central Florida out of the playoffs. But, similar to the situation we were in recently, it's unlikely. Still, the opportunity is there. Central Florida will be playing three games in four days this weekend, all rescheduled games.
Bradenton will get the chance straight up, as the two play Thursday in Central Florida, and then the following Friday in Bradenton. Not only that, but two of their other three games are against the hapless, wish there was relegation to the rec leagues, Palm Beach Pumas. That's a certain 6 points that no-one else that's in the hunt can count on.
Carolina should win two of their remaining five games -- they play Nashville twice. But they also play Atlanta U-23's twice, so we have quite a dogfight at the top.
Things should start to come into focus tonight with Carolina at Cary. For now, though, our first opponent for the playoffs could be anyone except Nashville or Palm Beach.

Here (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=7390+Markham+Road,+Sanford,+FL&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=54.621153,71.455078&ie=UTF8&ll=28.791732,-81.655884&spn=0.955587,1.649323&z=10&iwloc=addr). Man, I had to move way far out on that map to find out where it is. North of Orlando.
The Kraze won the PDL in '04.
Here's a little history:
'07: Laredo Heat won it in Laredo
'06: Michigan Bucks won it in Laredo over the Laredo Heat.
'05: Des Moines Menace won over the El Paso Patriots.
'04: Central Florida Kraze won in Central Florida over the Boulder Rapids Reserves.
'03: Cape Cod Crusaders won over the Chicago Fire Premier.
Heck, I'm going to be lazy now, and just copy from here (http://www.rsssf.com/tablesu/usa-allchamp.html) (down near the bottom).

To quote, "Vengeance is a dish best served cold."
If we play the Silverbacks U23 team (who I know is no the USL1 team we played), especially in Austin, they will find their "dinner" very icy.

I'm pretty sure that we'll give them a big payback if the results of the standing happens.

Also tonight (and you can watch it online (http://www.burnleyfootballclub.premiumtv.co.uk/page/LatestHeadlines/0,,10413~1341472,00.html)), Cary is getting that game we didn't get (http://www.burnleyfootballclub.premiumtv.co.uk/page/LatestHeadlines/0,,10413~1341812,00.html). Hey, I though Burnley was going to Carolina to play the USL-1 team!

I wouldn't be surprised if Burnley thought it would be easier (and better for the W's) if they played a team that wasn't running away with their Division like the Aztex. Although I was disappointed as hell to not see Burnley, I think the Tigres match was much better (with the exception of the "Fire Dance").

I was disappointed not to see Burnely as well. But, I just got my 2008/2009 Burnley Away top in the mail, so that made it a little better. :)

Ha ha, my wife hates those colors as well. But just so I don't get thrown out of the Chantico's, here is my Aztex replica. I guess, I should say now show me yours? :D

I think I can speak for Blackburn when I say, we'd love to, but they don't make them in anything bigger than XXL. We don't want something like this to happen...
