With 3 games to go, Austin has won the Mid-South Division!

It should've been a bigger win over Mississippi, and a few of us decided that the south goal needs to be moved 6 inches to the east.

The rest of the season is on the road. It will be interesting to see how the team fares from here on out.

I have some concerns that there'll be a letdown. I felt like the team came out very sluggish again. Maybe they're just getting into a habit of waiting for the sun to go down.

Next weekend is a back-to-back against New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and then our final game the next weekend out in El Paso.

It would be sweet to pay them back for beating us here.

I keep forgetting to check if El Paso has their game webcast working. We might be able to watch the final game live, like we tried to do for the opener.

Anyway, a really impressive opening season for our guys.

But, as with all things American, it's the playoffs that matter.

It would be icing on the cake to go the whole way.

C'mon, guys, let's pull a Chicago Fire!

Something I noticed regarding our division. We're right on par with the other division leaders, but are the first to wrap up the division title.

But what's interesting to me is that Houston has the most points of any last place team. It speaks well to the quality of play across the board in our division... and also says a lot about how good a team we are, having won it.

Where will you be watching this game if its on the web at home or do a few of you go the a boozer to view ?

Would be nice to meet a few of you lads.

I'd definitely go to a bar to watch if it was shown there, but this hasn't happened, so far.

There were some conversations about this earlier, and I think the trick is finding a pub that will allow us to hook on to their wireless and then hook into the TV. Maybe Fado (good soccer base), maybe Mother Egan's.

Shouldn't Sherlocks set this up since they the 'official pub'? I have been there a couple times and the place is actually pretty cool.

The webcast has worked for the last few games as we seemed to have resolved the wireless signal issues that had stopped us before. Hopefully, it will be up and running for the 19th. We do have lots of archived video up now, including the first EP-AUS game, and we'll do the same after this one. (www.elpaso-patriots.com).

Best to the Aztex (except for the 19th) -- your team is really setting a great standard in its first season.

Bet you guys are...Stoke'd! ;)

For the season opener, we went to Mother Egan's. We almost had a connection going, but it didn't work, as explained by the guy from El Paso in the post above.

Mother Egan's was helpful, to a certain extent. That is to say, they were happy to have us there, and have access to a TV.

The problem at the time was that we had a bizarre overabundance of Mac laptops in our group. Now that it's a few months later, I expect that there's at least one person (hello? Chase? have you joined up yet?) that knows the technology and actually has a PC laptop:)

I like the place as well. Problem as far as being able to watch the game is that the part of the bar that's most useful for doing something like this has bands in it on Saturday nights. I talked with the manager back in May for the first El Paso away game, so I'm sure that things wouldn't be any different for this one.

So, my suggestion is a repeat at Mother Egan's.

Now, all we need is a PC and the proper wires to hook up to a TV.

At least this time we have a couple weeks to get it all sorted out:)

I have a laptop with standard outputs (VGA and audio), so all we need is a TV that can take the VGA connection as one of the input forms. Most new flat panel displays have these. Otherwise, we'll need to get a VGA to XX (S Video, RCA, etc.) connection converter. VioletCrown, so you remember what connections ME's TV's have?

My apologies for geeking out, but it'll make match day easier (assuming El Paso has their streaming working).

Well, I have a PC laptop with standard A/V out cables somewhere, but it's a bit old and beat up; occasionally (but rarely) it shuts down for no apparent reason. Would probably be fine over the course of a game. I guess I'll test it out just in case.

No problem. Glad someone is sufficiently geeky to know what to do.

I have no idea what sort of connection ME's TVs have. We (twometers and Barbaro and I) were flailing around somewhat hopelessly as we're all Mac people. The ME's folks were as helpful as they could be, and I'm sure they'll be able to give you a more useful answer than me if you call them.

They have the flatscreen up front that, assuming there isn't anything important on (and it's summer, is there anything? The Olympics won't have started) we should be able to use.

Last time we ended up in back with regular TVs. But there was the option open of using the projector outside. We should probably check on that. We had enough people last time that the flatscreen in front our outside would probably be a good idea. I expect that we could get even more this time.

Projectors, for the most part, all have the VGA connectors that I have so we should plan on that. So then it sounds like we're all but settled that we'll hit Mother Egan's on Saturday, July 19th @ 8:30 p.m. CDT (remember, El Paso is in MDT). I'll try to get by there sometime this or next week to discuss with them. It might not be a bad idea to have another laptop there to post updates to this forum on the match scores for those who can't watch it.

One other note, now that the home season is done -- the Aztex finished the season with an average attendance of 1166. From what I can remember, the Lone Stars were working on pushing toward 1,000 for single games, so our new team has done a fabulous job. And the word is still spreading, so who knows what next year will bring.

I think we can probably at least safely say that the USL-1 Aztex will not have the lowest attendance in the league.

Anyone know what the average attendance for the USL-1 has been this season. I'm too lazy to look it up myself.

Hope to see you guys at Mother Egan's next Saturday!

Note: That's last season USL-1 attendance.

Here's this season attendance as of July 11:

Looks like the average attendance is almost 5,000.

That is correct...I choosed to ignore the play-offs, and the signature bit might be more easily translated as "Schalke is something that you carry in your heart" but who cares ;)

The fact that AA is going forward at a nice pace is reason enough to indulge in a kind of celebration!
