Pretty worried about the "hoffie" game on saturday! its crunch-time for borussia...specially being an away match and against a team that wants to prove they didnt win over us in the 2.liga out of pure luck ,this game either turns it around for us or mentally we would fall into a dangerous slump!
However on the positive side,it could have been worse if our next match following the recent 3-1 defeat would have been up against Bremen,FC Hollywood or another top gun in the bundesliga,a win will lay the right foundation for our next home game!
We need a 100% Neuville and seems his ready and up-beat for this game:)
I watched canadas game against jamaica and Rob Friend seemed very tired, heavy and flat...hope he was just saving his legs for Gladbach, who knows tho!

No problem, since there's Colautti ... and Olli Neuville & Lamidi thankfully got fit. :)

It's going to be a tough match ... but it's time for revenge, isn't it? ;)

The game is taking place in Mannheim, so our team will have a good support at least! Let's hope that there won't be any Waldhof hools at stadium in order to cause trouble...

Hey, I actually went to see Waldhof when they were still Chio Waldhof and in the 2BL South (the father of my best friend in Philly growing up was from Waldhof).

I've no problem with Waldhof (unfortunately they are in big trouble since many, many years) ... but their notorious hools scene seems to be still existent.

Btw: Here's a pre-game report in English (it seems that the same defence from the Stuttgart game will get a 2nd chance).

The only change in the line-up is supposed to be Colautti for Friend.

PS: Interview with our former LB Marvin Compper, who moved to Hoffenheim during the last winter break and is playing as a CB against us.

Not sure what to say except...maybe am just saying maybe we are not still BUNDESLIGA material! sitting in the bottom of the table...a team with so much tradition behind it:(

Borussia

Well, here's the "Fehlstart" again (like last season - at least we had 2 points after 2 games)...:(

We started pretty well and controlled the game in the first 20 minutes ... but after the silly 0:1 (another individual mistake, this time from our "leader" Patrick Pauuwe), we totally lost the confidence and didn't manage to create many scoring opportunities (reminds me of the "Auswärtsdeppen" seasons from former years). Awful 2nd half, only our goalie Heimeroth prevented us from conceding more (counter-attack) goals!

Against Stuttgart, it was the defence ... and now, the midfield was our weak point! Pauuwe & Rösler (why didn't Jos bring Baumi after his solid performance against Stuttgart?) apparently are out of form, whereas Marin & Matmour weren't convincing either this time. Colautti and later on Friend & Neuville simply didn't get any good balls...

Heimeroth, Levels, Callsen-Bracker, Daems and even Jaures (except for 1 terrible bad pass which led to a huge chance for the hosts) did a pretty solid job in my eyes.

Thanks for the updates and links, Borussia. It's unfortunate that Gladbach lost, especially to another club just looking to avoid relegation this season. Things aren't looking up either- I just looked at their schedule and noticed Werder Bremen is next.

To be honest, I don't think they will be among the teams to fight against relegation in the end. Just wait up their strength when Obasi (Nigerian top striker) arrives back from the Olympic Games and their new Brasilian 5 million striker (don't remember his name) gets fit...

Well, Werder sounds very tough on paper ... but we actually have a good home record against them, so at least 1 point might be possible.

As i have always mentioned..i am a gladbach fan that cares less how low they go..they & will drop they will alwys be my number one...but this is just terrible, not sure how one or 2 players can help..i think our main strength which must come from the entire squad is just not there...and looks flat and unimpressive, fighting spirit so to speak......this is really bad..to be 2 weeks in the league with nothing to show, just seems we dont meet the required standards to compete basically!

Naz, we didn't play badly against Stuttgart ... and the first half in Hoffenheim wasn't that bad either! There's just 2 games played, so let's give the guys some time to improve & adjust to the league.

Of course it's a dangerous situation of totally mulling the season start with 2 tough games (Bremen & Hannover) waiting now, but panicking is the wrong solution! I believe in this team and am confident than we'll get our points in order to keep the league!

Uwe

Bottom line collectively we are not a frightening team,we didnt hire one or two high impact superstar players...that are capable of changing the result of the game single handedly! yes as a squad if we can be all on the same page and all perform above 85% of our ability we shall get a result(but isnt that the case with most teams?)...and that kind of a team is a fragile team, specially in the bundesliga...seems like if any single borussia player is out of tune on a certain given day...the rest of the team will fall out of harmony along with it and nobody has enough juice or talent to fill up for the missing part, teams that succeed actually have enough depth that even if 1 or 2 players screw up thru the coarse of the game there is 3 more players to carry the load and take it home.....this is the structure i see at the moment, and it is a very risky fragile way of trying to survive or succeed in the prof football world nowdays!

Do you remember your scepticism at the beginning of last season? So don't panic, Jos Luhukay & Christian Ziege will handle this situation.

Uwe

am not panicing, even during our success in the 2.liga i mentioned over and over...we lack a few players that can change the game within seconds specially in the offensive mid field, yes marin seems like the next big thing in germany....but seems like we can only win or draw..if all the squad is running on all-cylinders..nowdays that does not happen very often, and when it does most teams win regardless......thats what am saying!

Hey, don't forget we have been just promoted ... so we can't expect "stars".

I personally think that our players are good enough to keep the league. But let's wait up, maybe CZ is going to sign a new player (hopefully a RB) during this week.

Lets hope we take care of business when hosting bremen, its now or never!

Jaures & Svärd are out due to injuries, Rösler due to bad form. Alberman has probably got the important task to neutralize Diego (who's back from the Olympics).

Here's 2 expected line-ups for this afternoon:

-------------------Heimeroth---------------

Levels/Ndjeng-----JICB----Brouwers/Kleine-----Daems

-----------Alberman---------Paauwe------------

Matmour--------------------------------------Marin

--------------Colautti---------Friend-------

---------------------Heimeroth-------------

Levels/Ndjeng-----JICB----Brouwers/Kleine------Daems

----------Alberman--------------Paauwe---------

Matmour------------Baumjohann -------------Marin

-----------------------Friend------------

It's a very tough game against a top favourite for the championship, but we're surely not without chance in a sold out Borussia-Park (54,000) and with the knowledge of having a pretty good home statistics against Werder. We need to minimalize the mistakes from the first 2 games and play good counter-attacks with our skillful & fast wingers, since Werder's defence is pretty vulnerable in such situations!

Auf geht's Jungs!!
