Damn, I didn't see much improvement compared to the last 2 home games for far. :( I attended the 2nd league match "Fürth vs Aachen" last night ... and can tell you that this game had a lot more pace & technical quality.

Don't understand why we play with 3 defensive mids once again instead of bringing a real playmaker like Baumjohann.

We had 3 decent chances so far (Matmour and 2x Friend), but can be happy that KSC missed a 100 % scoring opportunity.

If we don't improve after the interval, we won't win the game.

What are you doing - no problems at the sc stream.

It's working again now.

Still 1:0 (thanks to Pauuwe's goal) and about 10 minutes to go. C'mon guys, score the 2:0 ... since this is a dangerous result!

Btw: What a bad shot from Matmour in a very good position.

Well, I can't view the game anymore. :( Good that I didn't have to see those 2 huge KSC scoring opportunities! :-)

Edit: Coulibaly apparently hit the post after a free-kick.

The sc stream was working perfect, thanks again! Well the most important thing was to collect all 3 points and we did that,so no complaints there. However playing at home and having loads of motivation considering our position in the table..against a very weak Karlsruhe side (at least today they had nothing to show except a few opportunities )..i think our performance was a bit poor,am sure meyer thinks the same as well! I expected a more physical game from us with speed & way more intensity...but you gotto love hans meyers facial expressions and body language on the side-lines:D

I expected a better performance as well ... but hey, at least we got the vital 3 points! We didn't play much better than lately, but it seems that "Hans im Glück" brought some luck to Borussia-Park (we lacked against Hertha, i.e.)! ;)

"Arbeitssieg" - that's how you call such wins in German. Finally the 2nd season win and a clean sheet ... but let's be honest, we were pretty fortunate today (KSC missed 3 top chances to score)! Lot of work for Hans Meyer during the next days & weeks...

Here's 2 match reports (in German) with stats:

Paauwe krönt Meyers Einstand

Borussia Mönchengladbach holt sich unter dem neuen Trainer, Hans Meyer, einen ersten Sieg und gibt damit die Rote Laterne der Bundesliga ab. Der KSC dagegen musste die dritte Niederlage in Folge hinnehmen, scheiterte im Rheinland wegen einer allzu nachlässigen Chancenverwertung.

Yay! 3 pts... something to build on, now if only Spurs can do the same and get a win over Bolton.

Indeed. ;)

Nice to meet another BMG fan/sympathizer in this thread! :) Welcome.

What do you think of the former Spurs player Christian Ziege? :-)

now if only Spurs can do the same and get a win over Bolton.

It's sad to see another traditional club on the bottom of the table. Good luck for the game against Bolton and let's hope that both teams (BMG & Spurs) will be able to leave the relegation zone as soon as possible!

Yep, he does (I knew he isn't a spin doctor).

Here's one of his typically humorous statings ;):

"Ich habe vor ein paar Tagen gesagt, wir müssen einfach gewinnen, wenn nötig mit einem Krampfspiel. Dabei hätte ich nicht gedacht, dass meine Mannschaft das wörtlich nimmt."

Translation:

"Some days ago, I said we simply have to win - if it's necessary, with a "Krampfspiel" (who knows to translate that German expression?). However, I didn't expect my team to take this literally."

Hans Meyer is known to prefer beautiful offensive football ... in our current situation, it seems that he focuses on stabilizing the defence, though. However, our today's opponent created 3 top chances despite the fact that we played with 3 defensive mids ... and since our offensive game was lame and very predictable, I hope that Hans will field 2 defensive mids + 1 real playmaker (Marin or Baumjohann) in the next home match against Frankfurt! Or we play a 3:3:3:1 or 3:3:1:3 ...

Btw: I've still not read any comments from @ Lascho and @ Luckie. How do you rate the players?

Not much different from yours. I already noticed that many people in the stadium rated Alberman much better than the guys watching tv. One level better than anyone else in my eyes.

God bless marko marin, boy that guy stands out by far...beautiful style of football, technique and movement on the field..am not sure why he got Subd at the 60th min..if only we had 2 marko marins it would be a whole different story,as far as meyer goes..am sure after his first game and our performance..he would make more changes..i hope at least because todays game was no good indication:o!
