Damn, what a cool header from Steve (thanks very much to their goalie:-)! :D :)

Good fighting, pressing and passing so far. Let's hope we can keep this up after the interval, since 3 points would be very important tonight! They have to attack more now, so we'll hopefully get some counter-attack opportunities for the 2:0...

Auf geht's, kämpfen und siegen!!!

I just hope they dont get too comfortable..and remain deep and defend,we need another goal at least to do that...best way is to keep pressing and hold that mid-field..great game so far!

Well i guess a draw was better than a loss, but i just dont understand..why we dropped back so much in the 2nd half...and eventually allowed bochum to take over the game! they had totally no answer for our team in the first half! lots of terrible bad passing mistakes as well..those should be fixed, not sure when tho..season is almost over! roberto could have been great help in this game..but oh well seems like his only a bench figure right now!

That's what I don't understand either. It can't be just due to Steve's injury (Ndjeng, who replaced him after the interval, was terrible)...

The former Fürth skipper Thomas Kleine (who played well in my eyes) saved us at least 1 point in the end ... but I'm still pissed off about the attitude & performance in the second half! Why did we suddenly get passively in the midfield and gave them so much space to pressure? Just after the deserved 2:1 for Bochum, we started playing football again...

Apparently, this team isn't able to play constantly well over 90 minutes. That's what the new manager needs to work on. And I hope that Ndjeng (well, he isn't a RB) and Voigt will never again be our FB's...

Uwe

finally you are on the same page with me,so may times in the past i mentioned we cant keep consistant, and we too soon go flat..such a shame with our great pressing football in the first half and control of mid field and taking away pace from their players....then suddenly we just gave it all up and the mid field was up for grabs...that was when bochun got comfortable in the game..not because they suddenly had a better team on the pitch in the 2nd half..am tellng this right now right here,if this is the way these guys wanna play..one good half and then another one flat..we will be relegated 100%

I totally agree. The right back in the 2nd half (Ndjeng?) was getting beaten badly. Also, like you said, the midfield seemed to be playing deeper in the 2nd half. I think this hurt BMG, because they had some promising attacks in the 1st half when they were pushed higher. I agree, the team played much better after the 2nd Bochum goal.

"Meyer Takes 'Gladbach Reins
2008-10-18 18:34:59

Borussia Monchengladbach have appointed Hans Meyer as their new coach.

The Bundesliga club confirmed the news on Saturday afternoon, adding that Meyer would be formally presented to the German media at a press conference on Sunday.

The 66-year-old, who is returning for a second stint at the 'Gladbach helm, will reportedly pen an 18-month contract.

Meyer coached the Foals between 1999 and 2003 and is an honorary member of the Bundesliga club. He replaces Jos Luhukay, who was sacked just under a fortnight ago.

Meyer led Borussia from the foot of the 2.Bundesliga into the top flight during his first spell in charge. He stepped down as coach after 11 games of the 2002/03 season but remains a fans' favourite.

He went on to manage Hertha Berlin, saving them from relegation before performing similar heroics at Nurnberg.

He then led Nurnberg into the UEFA Cup in his first full season in charge but was sacked midway through last term as the team struggled at the wrong end of the table.

Meyer's contract with Nurnberg had not been fully terminated, however, and this delayed his return to the Foals.

A settlement figure was agreed with Nurnberg on Saturday, enabling Meyer to return.

On Friday night, Borussia picked up only their fourth point of the season with a 2-2 draw against Bochum in caretaker coach Christian Ziege's final game at the helm.

"I am proud to have been able to experience this and I have the lads to thank," said Ziege, who is 'Gladbach's director of football but stepped into the breach following the departure of Luhukay.":D

Points shared at Bochum

At the end of an intensive Bundesliga encounter on Friday night, Bochum and Borussia parted honours even at 2-2. Steve Gohouri and Thomas Kleine got the Borussia goals.

The Yellow Press isn't really a friend of him (and vice versa). "Bild" started a campaign against him in Gladbach (that was the main reason he retired 5 years ago) and in Nuremberg.

Btw: The press-conference with Hans is starting now.

To be honest, he had a pretty disappointing Rückrunde in the 2nd league (after a very impressive Vorrunde) as well ...

Maybe he doesn't have the quality for the 1st league ... but to his rehabilitation, I have to say that he isn't a RB but a winger/forward (so he played out of position).

Am surprised about Hans Meyer and how he has this problem with the press,he always seems smiling and has a good humor..why would they do that?? I sure hope this time-around they keep away and let the man build our squad! But then i guess the press in germany is no different than here in n.america ( but ours is worse without a doubt) and they have a dirty way of just filling up the columns and basically would do anything to just sell their BS!

And whats really going on with Roberto & Sharbel touma?? would there be a possibility that borussia has lost interest in both and does not find them fit for the future of the team?? What a waste of money and talent:confused:

Because they don't understand his infamous humour ... and since they believe he's a communist. ;)

But Hans doesn't like "Bild" either ... being a very cultivated person.

I'm sure that this time the yellow press won't have a chance to start another campaign against him!

Hans Meyer wanted to sign Colautti for Nuremberg, but somehow it didn't work ... so he recommended him to BMG. I think that Roberto's chances will improve, hence (if he finally stays fit). The same for Touma, since HM favours a 4:2:1:3 system with fast outside forwards (like the Dutch). Sharbel's problem is his weakness in helping the midfield & defence after turnovers, though.

Btw: Christian Ziege is no longer our "Sportdirektor".

CLICK (http://torfabrik.de/profis/borussia/datum/2008/10/19/christian-ziege-als-co-trainer-von-hans-meyer.html)

He'll be the new co-manager of Hans Meyer together with Jürgen Raab (who was HM's co-manager in Nürnberg).

The former Bayern, Bochum, Fürth and BMG defender Max Eberl, who was responsible for our youth department and did a great job there, is replacing Ziege as "Sportdirektor". Good luck, Maxi! :)
