Yup, he's gone now:

It says Ziege will become the interim-coach until a successor is found.

I feel really sorry for Jos, but this decision is the best solution now.
Thanks for bringing us back to the 1 Bundesliga and good luck for the future, Jos! Despite his failure in the 1 Bundesliga (only 3 wins in 23 games), many fans like and respect him. However, the future of the club counts more than sympathy.

Meyer is a real coach, for some reason his a perfect picture of authority,id like to see him back as well!
But i feel really bad for Jl,everything seemed fine back in 2.liga...i think they just didnt take the task ahead of them seriously durig the off-season..or who kows what happens behind closed doors and training in the bask weeks, maybe there is some problems among the squad and Jus...Winnie has always been a fav of mine as well and his got a great record, but i dont like to see CZ out there,he was a great player..but he was involved with the current situation of the team till this point so not sure what he can bring to the table!
I still think holger fach might do well in gladbach despite his debacle in the 2.liga:eek:
Bring back our LEGEND---->HANS-GUNTER BRUNS ..HAHAHAHAHA:)

Yep. Nobody expected him to get fired especially after the Bremen game ... so it's very hard to understand what happened during the last weeks.

Marin, Neuville backed him yesterday after the defeat (although they had criticized him after the Hamburg match) ... but it's pretty obvious that there must have been problems with diverse players. Fact is that even those players who were on the pitch against Cologne, didn't make the impression to fight for him after the interval. Guys like Rösler, Voigt, Colautti, Touma, Kleine etc. were surely pissed off ... however, it seems that the whole team wasn't able to follow his tactical instructions anymore. I think it was really too much of rotation in every game, nearby we played too defensively even in the derby - a game we/he badly had to win! It's useless having 2 strikers on the pitch when they don't get any good balls from the midfield. Pauuwe & Alberman were too defensive, so there was a huge gap between them and both strikers (being forced to play long balls like it happened in former British "kick & rush" times). Köln had a numerical superiority in the midfield and concentrated on neutralizing our wingers Marin & Matmour ... knowing that we won't create any pressure in the central midfield without a real playmaker. When Baumjohann came in, it got a little bit better ... but it was too late. And bringing Colautti only in the last minute just after the 1:2, is the same joke like bringing Neuville for the last 5 minutes in Hamburg.
Jos promised offensive football (that has always been our club's philosophy), but acted anxiously instead (as he did in the season when we had relegated). Unfortunately, the last games didn't give much hope of an improvement ... and since we even lost the derby on home ground without fighting for every ball, I knew what would happen today.
We simply can't afford another relegation, so I do understand our board's decision not to give Jos more time, hence. He's surely not responsible for the players' mistakes (strikers missing best chances and the defenders having decisive black-outs in almost every game) ... but we all know that only results count in the end. Unfortunately.
Now we'll see whether this team really hasn't enough quality (I personally don't think so) or whether the guys just need some confidence & new tactical instructions.
Have a good night.

For some reason am getting nostalgic here again, first due to the fact that i remember our glory days and our advanced and modern fluid style of offensive football floating with speed and like a storm and how suddenly things went down-hill one after another...slowly and steady and selling all our quality players one after another ..and almost like somebody has put a curse on gladbach to run it into the ground once and for all...second reason i kindda liked JL and the fact that he seemed to have a strong bond with the squad and after winning the 2.ligs i could only see this group going into one direction "UP" and he sure looked lik a blue-collar hard working coach with smarts.I always mentioned we lack a few offensive mid-fielders and basically we need dominating the center in order to feed any other areas of the field..how JL couldnt provide that and why he didnt use our many players that had that battling mind-set with more attacking style i dont understand, also too many bad rotations and almost playing a very conservative tactical style...and those last minute ridiculous subs of neuville and collauti at the 90th min just didnt make sense one bit....leaving touma and rosler out was another mystery for me,anyway i liked the guy and i thought hi the guy that can slowly build a new borussia...oh well lets just hope we would not go back to 2.liga b/c i cant even imagine what would that be like!
And this whole changing of the coach..is more like a short-term pain-killer & fix..and no guarantee to change things around, except for Meyer..not sure who can be reliable enough (also winni shaffer might have a chance) otto rehhagel would be nice as well!

Talk about torture... my two favorite clubs at the bottom of their leagues. I really hope BMG can get it turned around... they need to get back to the glorious winning ways as much as Spurs but it's a long uphill road back.

Look, no one knows what futility is like unless you are a Philadelphia Phillies (baseball) phan. They were the first pro team to ever lose 10,000 games. However, they are doing better at the moment...:D

Naz, I visited Hans Meyer in his apartment below the Nürnberg castle today ... and he told me that he really thinks about returning to MG in order to do the same job he had done in Nuremberg (save the team from relegation and lead it into UEFA Cup). ;)
All depends on his partner's decision now. Let's hope she'll let him go or even follow him...

He knows football and dicipline ,his also great with placing the right players in the best place utilized...i have always been a fan of hans-meyer! i really hope his excited as us,to be the spearhead of our new stadium with a lot of talent to be explored in areas never been used up till now ! He can be the right man with the right vision and smarts!i always respected that man because his old-school...and thats whats missing nowdays among most prof.players! they tend to get too flaky too early:mad::D

Unfortunately, it doesn't help when you have dial-up service at home because AT&T cannot fix their lines and want to offer "AT&T U-Verse" instead (which means you have to take their tv service and cable phone as well, and they go out when you have a power outage:( (as happened to us when the remnants of Hurricane Ike came thru Ohio--100km+ winds (but oddly no rain) across the entire state, which is about 1/3 the size of Germany).
Oh, well.... Some day I will be able to get into the 21st Century.

M.Sammer was a mastermind on the field with great obsevation in mid-field area, however not sure if his qualified to really deliever what hans-meyer can!
Have they contacted him alread..or is it just a rumor??

I don't know if Sammer is realistic. He has a good job at the DFB, and is the natural successor of Jogi Löw. Borussia seems to contact a lot of very different people. I've heard from two different reliable sources, that they already talked to Arie van Lent in the week before the derby. Arie is too young and unexperienced, coach of Kleve (Regionalliga) at the moment, but something similar to Sammer/Lattek in Dortmund a few years ago seems possible. A young club hero together with an old coach who shares his experience with him for the first months in the job. Maybe Arie together with someone like Hans Meyer until the end of the season, and taking over as head coach next summer?

I really wondered why he would give up his DFB job...
Btw: Effe started a personal war with Königs because he won't get the manager job ...
http://www.rp-online.de/public/article/moenchengladbach/623593/Effe-ledert-gegen-Gladbach.html
... and now his "friends" from the yellow press started a campaign against Borussia's president, accusing him of being responsible for the current situation. Dear Effe, please grow up and stop acting like a spoiled child!
