Once again this rumor pops out of the mouths of those who would be in charge of the deal. He goes so far as to say that the fans (including local residents) would be the only constraint preventing it from happening. With the continued cost problems Arsen*l is having, it might be an opportunity to either solve our current grounds problem or leverage the situation into another solution entirely ... like improved transport links subsidies or even perhaps renting Wembly.

It appears that politicos in Liverpool are pushing for an Everton/Liverpool groundshare and offering to help fund a new joint stadium. It seems this idea isn't as much of a non-starter as most fans would like to believe.
While I wouldn't want to share grounds with Arsen*l, if it were a good financial deal for Spurs (increased capacity, solid revenue streams, co-ownership/rights) it could prove to be a tremendous situation for acquiring top talent. Not only is the stadium itself an attraction, but the increased revenues would allow Spurs to bridge the gap in the wage bill and sign top players. Right now Spurs wage bill is somewhere around 40M euros a year, while Arsen*l's wage bill is around 85M euros.
With the financial strength that a groundshare might bring, we could pull clear of the Leeds, Newcastle and Man City type clubs and compete with the Liverpool type clubs for top players. Coupled with a good coach, this could be the engine to drive Spurs' return to glory.

Actually, i don't have a problem with this. I think it'd be a good idea - in a way.
Fans might have a problem with sharing with the "enemy", but Italian sides have been doing this for years. Inter-AC, Roma-Lazio, Juve-Torino for a period.
Imagine though... Spurs can sell off WHL as prime real estate, split the cost of Ashburton Grove so they both own it (not a Palace-Wimbledon situation). Split the maintenance, the revenue, the sponsorship.
60000 each game, for whoever is playing there is a great boost to the club(s) with only half the expenditure.
As it'd be a new stadium, the transport routes would be sorted out - it's only because older grounds are surrounded by residential areas that it's not really a viable option to redevelop Spurs, and Highbury is listed buildings so nothing can be done there either.
If i was on the board of either club, i'd be very happy to propose this deal. The fans might not, but if the finances were handled right and there would be extra money to fix the club up - ie, proper structure from youth to 1st team, new players, new contracts to top players etc.. then i think the fans would go for it.

Er, I know I live in North London, went to school in Highbury and Tottenham, and currently work in Edmonton and from my office window can see WHL, but was wondering if anyone can tell me where Ashburton Grove actually is?

Middle square, where the arrow is. You can see Highbury from there too.

That is Arse territory! We can't move there!

It's more towards Tottenham isn't it?
Sort of like a halfway house between WHL and Highbury?
Better than moving to Stratford or somewhere :(

Stadiums aren't cheap to build. Being able to split the cost with another club would help a lot. More so, the facility would be used a lot more often. Not that I'd want to see anyone hanging out with Arse but this wouldn't be a bad move. It's either that or risk ending up being Wimbledon or Fulham. :)
