Folks, a few of us on the Arsenal board kicked around the idea of petitioning UEFA to dump ESPN as rights-holder for North America due to their incredibly poor coverage for those of us who speak English.
If you agree and would like to see UEFA step up and require ESPN to show a certain percentage of matchdays or risk losing the CL to a network that could do it justice (think FSW), please go to our petition site and sign:

Thanks for your time.

Your right. I'm getting sick and tired of ESPN not showing any premiership team, especially Arsenal, in the champions league. I'm glad that Fox Sports World are showing Arsenal v Inter live on Wednesday. FInally.
I think that they should make all the english soccer teams Champions league match available in North AMerica. Only the bloddy English pubs have it on closed circuit or whatever that means.

Isn't FSW losing money hand over fist?? Would they even be willing to bid more than ESPN??

Sorry I meant ESPN. I was referring fsworld instead of ESPN.
Why did they have to change the match from Arsenal v Inter to Real vs. Marseille.

Does the name "Beckham" ring a bell? How about "Ronaldo"? "Figo"? "Zidane"?
Don't get me wrong, I would have liked to watch Inter. But ESPN has a business decision to make.

It annoys me that ESPN shows Real like FSW shows Man United but any football is better then none. Its sad but it wouldn't shock me if ESPN actually loses ratings when they show Champions League games. As long as they keep showing at least one match per matchday live I won't be to disapointed. My fear is that they will do to champions league what they did to the spanish league. Keep the rights to show on their international network but stop showing it on their North American one.

that is what they're doing - as I understand ESPN shows one match a week in the US because they're contract for the North/South American rights requires them to do so. Otherwise I'm pretty sure they wouldn't bother. This is a crap situation. UEFA should require AT LEAST one match per day (i.e. tue/wed).

My fear is what happens if ESPN says fine and drops North American rights. WHo would pick it up? FSW world doesn't have the money (the only reason we get so many EPL games is Sky) We could be in the same place we were with Euro champs. It used to be on ESPN then they dropped it and nobody else can afford to show it accept for PPV companies. I would rather get one game a week live for free then none.

UEFA should start their own channel available around the world, for only 3 dollars a month.

good luck to you guys on your petition.
Maybe you guys should be scaning the satellites for freebie matches. we can normaly pick up many diffrent US sports feeds used by europian tv channels showing us sports as well as many weird and wonderfull things. oh theres plenty of football to be found too.
