Yea as brilliant as goon can be, I still hate on Wenger from takin Fabrelous from that Barca team - it'd truly be a joy. Gotta approve of the goon desire to keep going forward yesterday, keeping it in the corner is cowardly. Can't really say they deserved the game mind but this is footy. Again don't really see Man U as better for having Berbatov, makes the squad better, but why play Park for his industry yet bench Tevez for a statue who stood in midfield?!?!

Case update: rumours of my recovery may have been greatly exaggerated. A few weeks without a game and today for absolutely no reason my knee started doing some intriguing things....not in the same place as tore liggys but still a whole world of disconcerting nonetheless :(

Indeed. I must say Rafael's goal was amazing.

Case. Your and Bigg are making me nervous for my knees. It's making me feel like I am to expect such things to happen to me!

I'm still interested in your SL's and Mercurial SL's story. What have you done with them and how have they been? I want photos!

Yea, knees are sketchy things, I swear I'd had no REAL problems with them til I was 19, then 4 major injuries in 8 seasons :(
Well my Merc SLs sit in front of me in my living room, still boxed and unworn, as I can't be the guy wearing the most ridiculously audacious boots ever made until I get some of my game back. Today was the first soccer match I wore my MVSLs in, and I lasted a sum total of 15minutes so can hardly comment. They did look awesome with our new kit mind, tho it's Puma and I don't know how I feel about that....also, whilst I was in the toilet it seems that some clown stole my no10 off my peg and evidently I failed to check as when I got home I realised I actually had no3, which I kinda blame for me getting hurt!

The problem with knee injuries is it takes you a while to get your confidence in the joint back. Actually doing the injury wasn't half as painful as the rehab coming back from it and actually going out and playing. The first night I went back to training (a few weeks ago) it was chucking down with rain on a hard astroturf surface, it was cold, my knee was aching and screaming "noooooooooooo" at me, but I still knew I had to do it for myself to know that I could do it (or couldn't do it as appropriate).

That training session went fine apart from one twinge in my knee when I overstretched for a header. I felt the blood rush to my knee when I hit the floor and it was a similar feeling to when I did it both times, but without the pain...that was quite scary. But after I got over the initial aches and pains of that first session and knuckled down, I now feel a lot better. It does feel quite strong now too...not 100%, but getting there. Trusting the knee is the main problem because you worry about overstretching etc and popping it again. That thought is always in the back of your mind but the more you play, the more it fades away.

In other news, did anybody get the PES2009 update off the interweb on their PS3? They got rid of all the F50.8's and replaced them with .9's! I was pleasantly surprised!

That first story made me wish cheatski were still in the comp so teenygoon could demolish them, but I guess losing to Burnley with your 1st team is more shameful than losing to wengers net batch of uberkids!

Well, many thought it may never happen, and what once took an evening, has, after 4 months happened as we've finally pushed past the 400 post mark in this thread. I'd be uber intrigued for some moddo statto info such as how many different posters we've actually had in this thread, since no1 bothers going anywhere since the forum restructure, and after 1/3 of the year it seems the changes are indeed here to stay.
So it's a farewell for this thread, and I hope we can go for the time-honoured tradition of giving naming rights to the most "valued" contributor in this, the previous thread. Mods - who gets the gig?
