that makes sense. Who runs the academy for EF? What about the stuff Charley Corbel (is that right?) does?

Yeah, "der treue Charly" (Körbel by the way) runs the youth academy, which is, if Im not mistaken part of the AG and does not involve the youth teams of the EV.
Actually Im not sure how the youth academy and the youth teams of the club go together...

I wish more players like him stil existed...

When you get a chance, do some research on that for me. I would think the pros have their own academy, and the locals - well do they have dads coaching or what?

Well basically the club (E.V.) is the youth academy for the pro team (AG). The teams of the club obviously field the best youth players of Frankfurt and the Rhein Main Region, and play in the highest possible leagues. When the kids are good enough they make the jump to the pro team, like for example current player Faton Toski who has been playing for Eintracht Teams since he was 7 years old.
Obviously they can choose their kids, as any kid in Frankfurt would want to play for Eintracht, so its not like a local boy can just decide to join Eintracht Frankfurt.
I think often times young professional coaches or former players who want to become coaches get that kinda job. Alex Schur for example coached the U19 team before he took over the U 23 Team, which he is currently coaching together with Frank Leicht.

Charly Körbels Academy (http://www.eintracht-fussballschule.de/schule/fussballakademie/) is another thing. They practice 3 times a week with young talented kids, (age 7-10) from the region. These kids apparently stil practice and play for their local clubs too tough, so its like a bonus-program to add to the coaching they get at their small clubs, and has nothing to do with the Eintracht Frankfurt youth teams. (except that they probably try to sign the best kids :p)

I wonder if most clubs are like that? Bayern, Köln, etc?

Im pretty sure.

For Bayerns case, according to wikipedia:

"Am 14. Februar 2002 wurde der Großteil der Fußballabteilung in die neu gegründete FC Bayern München AG ausgegliedert. Unter deren Verantwortung steht nicht nur der Lizenzfußballbereich sondern auch die erste Amateurmannschaft, die A- und B-Junioren sowie die Frauenfußball-Abteilung

The FC Bayern AG, founded 2002, includes the pro-team, the U23, U19 and U17 teams, aswell as the women-team.

They have a "GMBH" (which is a kind of company, similar to AG) that includes pro team and U23 team. The youth theams belong to 1.FC Köln eV, the club that also holds a majority of the GMBH.

Pretty interesting stuff. Thanks for checking on it.

0-4 vs Dortmund
4-0 vs Hannover
0-5 vs Bremen
4-0 vs Bochum

at least there is allways a clear winner when we play...

19 points now, I guess I should be glad, especially after those horrible first 10 matchdays.

But Im not really. I know this team can do more, and so far we only won the games that we absolutely had to win. Couldnt win against anyone above us in the table so far.

Its time to change that in Hamburg next week! :)

I love how Fenin and Liberopolous play together lately! A great duo!

And btw thanks to Bochums Goalkeeper Fernandes, who basically handed over the points in the 5th minute...

Well... 0-1 loss in Hamburg... I guess I could say "I knew it"...

Hopefully we can recover over the winterbreak and play a better second half of the season.

btw, this loss was our 513th one in Bundesliga history, which puts us above Kaiserslautern onto spot NUMBER ONE in that categorie...
Noone has lost more games then we have! :D

Eintracht are going to sign DAC Dunajska Streda (Slovakian league) striker Leonard Kweuke until the end of the year.

Eintracht lost one of its greatest legends last week.
Alfred Pfaff, arguably the greatest player ever to wear the eagle-badge, died with 82 years.
In the 50s he was the heart of an at times brilliant team that won the championship in 59. He also led the amateur Eintracht team to the Championsleague Final in 1960, trashing the Glasgow Rangers twice on the way there and then participating in what british journalists called the "game of the century" against Real Madrid...

RIP :(

Eintracht are going to sign DAC Dunajska Streda (Slovakian league) striker Leonard Kweuke until the end of the year.

I doubt he will get much playing time, he is only on loan, but could be bought in summer...
Formner Eintracht player Werner Lorant was his coach in Slovakia and according to him he is a coming superstar... :D

Practice started again today. Apparently Bajramovic, Chris, Meier and Korkmaz were back.

Caio once again failed to complete the lactate-test... At least he seemes to have gotten to the last round this time. I wonder if he is in any way related to Ailton?!?

Aaron Galindo has left Eintracht Frankfurt and has signed for Deportivo Guadalajara in Mexiko.

Fee undisclosed

However, from what I've understood, next year, Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann will be joining Eintracht on a free transfer.

I liked the guy. But he's easily replacable, especially since Vasoski is back now.
Rumors are that we got 1 million for him, which would be a good deal imo...

Yes, thats true. link (http://eintracht.de/aktuell/26027/)

A young talented german player for free. Sounds good to me!
Im expecting Pröll to leave after the season. Nikolov will probably add 1-2 more years if he recovers from his injury...

Eintracht have signed Serbian left back Nikola Petkovic from Red Star.

2-1 loss in Berlin last weekend...

Imo a draw would have been well deserved. Eintracht played a strong second half, pushing Hertha into their side almost the entire time. Unfortunately they couldnt get a 2nd goal.

In any case, this was imo a very good game, that gives me good hope for a stronger 2nd half of the season!

The new guys Petkovic and Kweuke both did a great job, and Alex Meier and Chris showed once again that when they are fit, they are key players in this team.

If we play the same way against Cologne, I expect an easy win.

Had we closed that bag in the first half it would have been exactly that easy win that I expected. We domintated most of the game until that red card and penalty...
