depends on how you define well... :D

None of them really sticks out. It seems like one game, these 3 have a bad day while the rest are mediocre, and the next game some other 3 have a bad day while the rest are mediocre...

A major problem is that we cant seem to build up pressure when the other team is defending. In an "offensive game" we look alright, but if the other team doesnt play along, we have no way of achieving chances....

In Hoffenheim it looked better then the games before tough. We had 2 major chances in the last 10 Minutes. At some point you just have to use those, or you have a problem...

After the break next weekend we will have 5 games within 2 weeks. If we havent started gaining some points by the end of the months, I think Funkel will be out of office...

Im affraid this is going to be a hot winter...

Hi Friends of SGE
like some of you I am local supporter and hope the seasons turns better than it feels right now. I hope Funkel will get some Points, firing him before winter would be suicide. Hope the enviroment here starts relaxing, I do not know any other coach who could help us now.
The Team has the potential to at least reach place 16 or more, that should be the only goal this year....

Welcome to Bigsoccer.

Funkel needs to figure a way to turn it around and fast.

AI GUUUDE WIE!?! :)

Agreed. But I think the 2 weeks starting next weekend will be crucial. We have 5 games within that period, and if we dont at least win against Karlsruh and Cotbus, I dont see how this is gonna work any longer...
Bruchhagen is not so stupid to fire him within that period, when the next game is only 3 days away. But if we dont go out of those 2 weeks with more then 6 points, this clubs is gonna be on fire...

That can not be the only goal if you spend that much for new players and didnt lose any during the summerbreak. The team showed its potential last season. This year it has even more potential. We have to leave at least 5 times behind us. Everything else would be a major dissapointment in my eyes...
Bielefeld, Cotbus, Gladbach, Bochum, Karlsruhe and Köln... All teams that should easily be left behind normally...
Im not one of those who shout for a UEFA Cup spot, but rank 9-11 must be our goal! Not much more, but definitely nothing less either...

iGude :)

True, there are at least 5 teams which should struggle behind us.
But, somehow, I never believed in a getting better every year... Climbing one spot every year would be nice (especially like you said after investing BIG money in new players with a future), but even that is not enough in the eyes of many "supporters".
It would be boring if we had not cruicial periods like this one, and I really hope to team comes out stronger than before.
I expect us to struggle around 15 till winterbreak, and the having a nice upswing with "new" players like Kormaz, Caio, Meier if he can and maybe another addition, striker prefered.
think it was risky giving Heller to Duisburg, his speed is a real weapon. Hope he comes back us healthy...

Haha, yeah, I stopped takin those people seriously a long time ago... ;)
I think the ones that are crying the loudest right now are those that never watched a 2nd division game...

Maybe we were at our top over much of last season. But still, we have to finish at least infront of the before mentioned teams. Dortmund, Hertha, Hannover... those should be the teams to orient on. We arent quite on that same level yet overall, but I think we are closer to them then we are to the bottom group... Obviously that all doesnt matter if you dont manage to make use of your potential...
We will definitely be down there unteil the winter break and possibly for the rest of the season as well. I dont expect all that much from Korkamz`return. He ha yet to prove hismelf in a "real" league, and that may take a while alltough I have no doubt that we will have great fun with this guy at some point! :)
I agree about Heller. We could have had good use for him!

Doc. you should look back to our convo back on the first page... back then you were expecting rank 6-9 ;)

Nevertheless I don't think Frankfurt will fighting relegation throughout the season. Of course it is always possible that they are this season's Nuernberg, but you can't bet on that and I do believe that Frankfurt's side is strong enough to stay clear of a relegation battle. You guys have had a crap start, that's a given, but teams have ups and downs, I believe you guys will have an up sooner or later, and it'll be in time to get you clear of the positions you are in now before things begin to look really bleak.

I know, and I seriously was.
But I also added : "If the Caios, Fenins, Russ's and Meiers become more constant and Korkmaz playes the way he did at the Euro"
So far none of that happened... :(
But I really didnt expect THAT before the season. We had kept together a team that performed well though much of last season and added some great talent (Bellaid, Korkmaz) as well as Experience (Liberopolous)...
Obviously for us to finish between 6 and 9 things would have to go well. They started not going well from the very first day when Korkmaz broke his leg in the first practice session...

Right now we can only hope that!

Super important win today!
The first real won game since March! (not counting the games against allready relegated Duisburg and Pfullendorf)
Nothing pretty, but ever more important!

Now we still need 2 wins out of the 3 next games against Cotbus, Bayern and Gladbach!

Todays game didnt really generate too much hope for that to happen....

Really? Congrats!

What crazy last 8 minutes of the game! Your guys have shown great morale (Janni the last-minute hero).

Did Funkel's fate really get decided by this last minute? Do you think he'd have been sacked in the case of a defeat or draw?

You know that you won't get that win in Gladbach, so you should totally get focused on Cottbus & Bayern! ;)

He would never have been sacked after this gamer, right in the middle of two "english" weeks. Never. Thats not Buchhagens way of handling things.
He might still get sacked tough if we dont add more to this win within the next 3 games.
This win isnt worth a thing if we lose in cotbus now...

Im definitely planning on 3 points against Bayern, we'll see where we get the other ones..

We have to pay heavily for yesterdays 3 points... :(

Ama and Chris both got injured and will have to undergo surgery.
We will see neither of them on the field until Christmas.

On top of that Benni Köhler got a minor injury and will "only" be out 3 weeks...

Unbelievable! We have so many injured players since 3 years, its not even funny...
I dont think that Funkel has EVER been able to field his favorite team since we got promoted in 05. There are allways 2 or 3 key players out...

Yesterday Eintracht said a final "Good Bye" to its historic stadium "am Riederwald".
Once the homeground of great Eintracht Teams, witness to a "south german chapionship" in 1953 and the first ground in Germany to have a modern Floodlight installed after the war, this stadium in Frankfurts northeast was soon downgraded when Eintracht permanently moved to the bigger Waldstadion in Frankfurts southern cityforest.
Lately the whole areal, that was still used for games and practice of the youth teams as well as other sport teams has been falling appart more and more and been in a condition that is just not acceptable for a Bundesliga Club.
The club failed to invest in stones in the early 90s when money was still available. After the great downfall it became plain impossible. Now we finally got together the money to rebuild the whole areal, and install modern facilities. The "Leistungszentrum" Riederwald will be an important step for the whole Club Eintracht Frankfurt.

A Final good bye to a historic site...

Btw: Did you know that your manager was a die-hard Gladbach fan in former times (attending the home games in the Nordkurve at Bökelberg)?

So dear Friedhelm, please show some heart and gift us the 3 points! :D
