Update: Torres, arguably the second-best footballer in the world, is the focus of a massive bid attempt from Chelsea according to premiershiplatest.com.
Analysis: Roman Abramovich certainly has the finances to pull this off and go all Dan Snyder on us by turning Chelsea into the Euro 2008 all-star team, but Liverpool shows no signs of even listening to an offer and Torres seems set in place at 'Pool. With all the said, that's when these moves happen, when they make the least sense!
