Hertha somehow survive a furious Dortmund charge after a free kick and get to the locker room at halftime 1:0. Somehow.

Our best player of the season, Jaroslav Drobny, shows his quality once again! Top saves to keep Hertha ahead. Also a decent save by Chahed too off the line, I would have called a handball though ;)

Hells yea!

18 pts, platz 5, I'm well chuffed at where we are the standings. I just hope that we will look better and better than we have lately (lot of our wins were down to luck) and that we will blitz our way through some teams like we did against Hannover in the 2nd half.

AUFGEHTS HERTHA KAMPFEN UND SIEGEN!

It's all about finishing. Thankfully we're getting it done.

Apparently we are interested in signing KP Boateng (who's evidently reformed while rotting on the Spurs bench) and Albert Streit...

Good players but do we reallly need 2 rather contraversial players? Although I like the way Favre deals with contraversial players (sic: Pantelic, who we still have not given up trying to sign, according to Hoeness).

Favre looks like very conflicting character. Fining your best player with 125.000 euros? Not the cleverest thing to do, especially since he has said that he would like to sign for Stuttgart. He has said that Herthas management is trying to make him look bad so that fans would not protest if he leaves.I think that he deserves better treatment because Hertha is Pante BSC.
Talking about the match against Werder.... Where did you find that goalkeeper Gang?He tried to box the ball out and missed it, then it hits a standing Kačar who didnt manage to react because of Gangs mistake.

That's what we call a "freak accident". It was no one's fault. It just happened.

I didn't blame Gang or Kacar. Especially not Kacar. How could he move from something he could not see??

Huge game tomorrow at Metalist Kharkiv. We just have to win, and it will be difficult, Kharkiv are currently 2nd behind Dynamo Kyiv in their league.

0-0. Is this OK for us? seems like road points are always good.

It was the absolute minimum.

Now we have a neutral game in the Olympiastadion with Galatasary. If we want to get out of our group I think we have to win this game. If we do, I'm 99% sure we're through (can't remember another team w/ 5 pts not going through).

However we played absolutely horribly. 5 total shots...1 on target.

Hopefully Gala wins today.

It's a very good result for Hertha. Metalist only lost by one goal in the UEFA Cup last year to Everton over two legs, even though over the course of two games they had about four players red carded. They were about 30 minutes from advancing with only 9 players when Everton scored twice.

This year they lost to Besiktas in the first leg, but should have had a clear penalty and hit the post several times. Then when Besiktas came to Kharkov, they destroyed them 4-1.

Metalist are consisently the third place finisher in Ukraine behind the much richer Dynamo and Shakhtar.

I only hope that Gang will never again be in the goal. His stupid mistake made Kacar look bad and it could have affected his confidence. However i have heard that Kacar played very well against Metalist(He hit the post).

Pantelic is negotiating new contract with Hertha management. He wants 4 mill euros annually. If he does not get it, he will sign for Portsmouth.

Bild reports that Hertha are interested in 25 year old striker Marc Janko of Redshite Salzburg. 15 games, 20 goals so far  Could be a replacement for Pantelic.

Domovchiyski...wow. Awful.

as Swiss and as a Servette fan, I'm of course interested in seeing how Favre does...

somehow, it remembers me at the beginnings at Servette, when the team looked defensive and with not too much of a clear line and not doing so well in the league. And although we eliminated Zaragoza and Hertha in the UEFA cup, I still was not convinced of him. There were just a few players in Servette's team which made the difference, especially Hilton and Oruma, but also Frei, Fournier, Lonfat and Obradovic... so I still wished Favre away.

He only convinced me while doing the same at Zurich and getting more time and leading them to the titles...

Now, I hope for him he also gets the time he needs at Hertha. The start in the season has been better then last year and defensively it looks already quite ok. the rest will follow...

so, I wish you good luck against HSV next weekend
