anyone else have trouble doing from winter indoor to summer outdoor? I was kicking butt indoor. Tons of fancy moves, tons of great passes, scoring goals. I was a stud. Now outdoor, I feel out of shape, weak, terrible touches and no vision.

A lot of good indoor players are very ordinary out side. A lot of very good outside players are not that good inside.

That is all I want to say on this subject because I have not seen you play and who you are playing with and against.

I agree with this. I perfer outdoor compared to US indoor with walls. Thank god i play at this 8v8 indoor field with no walls with throw ins, pretty big goals, i am guessing 7ft high and i dunno how much wide.

I am a outdoor guy, i perfer toi have space for long passes and some time on the ball, US indoor for me is too much back and forth becasue of how small the fields are and the walls which i think is sorta cheezy on how many players use it. But thats just me.

For me the outdoor to indoor transition was harder as a defender. I still haven't fully adjusted.

I feel I have much more time on the ball in indoor because my touch is so much better. Outdoor the fields are usually crap and it takes a ronaldo to bring a ball under control. and god knows it's just a matter of time before a hole in the field breaks one of my ankles mid sprint.

I think the main difference is you just loose touch with the play of outdoor. I think if whilst playing indoor, you keep your fitness level high and take time to practice on regular sized goals and mainly keep in touch with outdoors, when summer comes along your earned indoor skills will shine on an outdoor pitch!

I have no problem with indoor, i just hate those damn walls. If you look at other countries the play is quick yet is all about touch and passsing, none of that crap of using the wall as your friend, in indoor 'fulbito' like we call it in bolivia it takes skill and touch... thats how all the best brasilians got that touch for outdoor.

And for outdoor since young i practice long passes to get my touch good for that, and kicking the ball as a kid as high as i could and trying to trap it lol.

I am a dominant indoor player, better outdoor players are nothing compared to me indoor, but when it comes to outdoor I am scared and disapear and look like a terrible player. Some people are just better at one then the other.

What about stamina? Do you find that you have more energy indoor or outdoor. I get really tired pretty fast with the indoor game. I guess because it is a bit faster paced (especially with the walls). How about you?

Also, there are generally fewer players per side in indoor and no midfield play to speak of. Odds are, the play/action is going to be right around you more of the time indoor.

I was wondering if there is a big difference when moving from indoor to outdoor.
We got a new guy on the team and he was supposedly a great indoor player but outdoor, he doesn't have the skill I thought he would. Indoor is a faster game- you should be able to control the ball better with having good passes and fast shots.
Maybe its was like the kids league where they just kicked it against the walls?

Indoor is crushing me. It's that time of year in Chicago. Haven't played indoor in two years and forgot a totally different skillset is needed. My outdoor stamina is much greater than indoor.

what kind of indoor is the main type in the US? cause im a outdoor 11side player in Ireland and also am on the Irish futsal team, i made transition very fast, as its just a smaller pitch 5v5. i hate the indoor with the walls.

futsal is the best indoor game imo, good sized nets, none of the 2 feet hight, 10 feet long ones.

^^Its what you would hate. ALl walls!!

I wish Indoor in USA would play like it is played all over the world, Futsal, wiht a smaller ball and no walls, just all posesssion.

Indoor in the US varies. It can be futsal, or with walls or without walls. Most commercial indoor arenas I have seen have walls. But you can play futsal or with a regular ball in any school gym or YMCA. People also play futsal on tennis courts.

As to the op, indoor has more dribbling and passing in tight spaces, but does not have any long passing. There is no real width to the attack. Defending is different too because of the larger goals and larger spaces to defend. Going from outdoor to indoor is easier I think than going from indoor to outdoor.

It's pretty much the same thing in South Florida.

I prefer indoor to outdoor, and I like the walls. the game never stops and it adds a new creative element.

I do like playing outdoor on turf surfaces. But it completely screws me up when i've got the ball bouncing around ridiculously on a poor grass surface.

it shouldn't surprise you. they're different games. transitioning to outdoor, there's more ground to cover even though the pace is less constant. the surface is typically bumpier outdoors (unless you're playing on turf). the spaces are not as tight, but you have to see further upfield.

i find that i have just a bit more time playing outdoor, so take advantage of that extra split second to look up, to strike the ball properly, etc.

the key is to slow things down just a hair.
