I have been wanting to get into playing football for about 3 years, and have practiced a bit, but only played for real once (with an intramural team). I found a local pick-up game the other day, and really enjoyed it, but the boots I had were a bit too small. They gave me large blisters, and injured my left big toenail (thought I would lose the toenail, as the same thing happened to me last year, stopped short in shoes, messed up the toenail, toenail fell off a few weeks later :P)...
Anyway, I want to buy new boots. I know they are supposed to be snug and tight (my old ones were 1-1.5 sizes smaller than my regular shoes, I feel like that is too much). What should I be looking for, feel-wise, when trying on boots? Should I wear two pairs of socks when playing (wearing regular socks atm, not long socks, as I left them and my shin guards back at college). Any advice on buying boots in general would be greatly appreciated, as I am planning on going out either tomorrow or the day after to buy them. Should it be ok buying them with blisters?
Thanks very much
